Felix was the only Coffs Conservatorium student to successfully audition for this exceptional and highly competitive program and we're proud as punch to see the end result. While lessons are continuing we're monitoring the daily COVID-19 situation very closely and ask everyone to assist us by washing hands, maintaining physical distancing and not coming to the Con if you are unwell. We can all get through this together and can't wait for our much loved concerts and events to get back into full swing as soon as possible. 19.01.2022 In collaboration with Clark Piano Services the Coffs Con is thrilled to announce a brand new scholarship from term 3! Bryce is a keen advocate for music education and has generously supported the creation of a new scholarship for U18 students who have never learnt before or are returning to lessons after a lengthy hiatus. The scholarship will provide 1 term of 30 minute piano lessons at the Coffs Conservatorium with a Coffs Con teacher. Applications are officially open for te...rm 3. Please go to https://clarkpianoservices.com.au/scholarship/ to submit your expression of interest. Please note: The scholarship will be offered to 1 student per term. Applicants must be under 18 at July 1 2020. Successful applicants will be contacted by Coffs Conservatorium staff to arrange lesson scheduling and teacher allocation. The scholarship does not cover any learning materials that may be needed once lessons begin.

14.01.2022 Tomorrow, Saturday 29th August at 2pm the Coffs Harbour String Quartet make their debut performance with Beethoven and Mendelssohn. The concert has sold out for a restricted live audience however below is a scheduled live stream link through YouTube for anyone who would like to watch from the comfort of their own home (or beach, river, cafe, wherever really!). 14.01.2022 TAKE THE SURVEY AND HELP GET US PLAYING, SINGING AND LEARNING MUSIC AGAIN RIVMEO is undertaking the biggest data collection yet on the impact of COVID-19 on the music sector and through Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium RIVMEO wants to hear from you. Our comprehensive survey asks how you have been affected by the current restrictions. We need to hear for the widest range of ensemble musicians possible, whether instrumentalists, vocalists, music educators or students. R...IVMEO is meeting with the NSW government soon to discuss ways we can return to music, and your participation in this survey will directly feed into our advocacy. This is the first survey to gather data from players and conductors alike, professional and community musicians, students of all ages, across all regions. RIVMEO's particular focus is NSW, but we also have made provision for people in all states to take part. Our survey design allows us to separate out data from different states and we will be happy to share the results with colleagues everywhere. The good news is that the String Camp has SOLD OUT which means a brilliant 3 days of music camp environment and activities coming up for all students involved. The bad news is that the String Camp has SOLD OUT and we're unable to extend numbers due to COVID-19. Be sure to keep an eye on our social media next week for updates as to how you can live steam or attend the grand finale concert next Friday at 12pm. 06.01.2022 All the staff and teachers at the Coffs Con hope that everyone is enjoying a lovely break. We've got some more good news that was confirmed late last week. Ensembles can return in full from term 4 provided physical distancing is maintained at all times! This means Stage Band can come back along with the woodwind and brass sections of the Youth Orchestra! As for choirs, the ruling is 5 singers in a room appropriately spaced so we're getting creative and working out strategies... with our wonderful vocal teachers to see how we can get our choirs back up and running. Our COVID-19 conditions of entry and precautions remain the same at this time and we thank you for cooperating and helping keep the Con safe and enjoyable for everyone. Keep and eye on the Con's social media and emails from us to stay up to date and involved. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for the final term of 2020!

06.01.2022 Wow, a lot can be achieved in just 24 hours! Yesterday at 11:30am these students came together as part of the Coffs Con String Camp, a 3 day intensive holiday workshop. Tackling music by Debussy and Shostakovich, Jonah, Eden, Felix and Faith have put an in enormous 24 hours to produce some excellent quartet playing. This is an excerpt from the third Shostakovich String Quartet. 05.01.2022 This Saturday's concert has 2 TICKETS LEFT! Due to the restricted audience capacity we can only have 38 audience members in-house this weekend. If you missed out on a ticket, fear not! The concert will also be live streamed and details about how to access this will be released later this week. Online donations will be possible and we'll have donations bucket on the day as well. There is a COVIDSafe plan in place and strict hygiene procedures will be in place including single... entry and exit points when arriving and leaving the Con. 04.01.2022 NEW ENSEMBLE ANNOUNCEMENT! We're SO excited to announce the latest addition to our ensembles program, Six Again. Six Again is an advanced small jazz ensemble aimed at teenage students who want to further their musical experience and education in a small group environment. Much like the Academy program is for advanced classically trained students offering extra opportunities, Six Again is for advanced jazz students and will provide exceptional learning and performance opportun...ities working with renowned jazz musician, Danny Stitt. Spots are strictly limited to 6, with positions available for students who play keys, drums, sax, trumpet, guitar and bass. Cost is $130 per term and rehearsals will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6-7pm.
