24.01.2022 Why is it important to properly flush and restart an ice machine that has been turned off as part of the shut down? Hopefully this explains it, the filter on the left was put in 2 weeks prior to the shut down. (The one on the right is the new one going in) the mashing was switched off and left. The result is stagnant water left at a temperature that breeds algae etc. So before the ice machine was started again we drained the water, cleaned and sanitized the machine and filter housing, replaced the filter and ran the ice machine up. This way no one gets dodgy ice in their drinks!
