The freedom and spont...aneity with which these artists wield a brush embodies a sense of joy and a passion for both their art making and the environments they have immersed themselves in. 15.01.2022 The Liberals can't actually talk about Australia's film industry, because they don't understand the important cultural, social, and economic benefits. Our creative industries deserve better than this.

14.01.2022 We need theatre that is more messy and boisterous, a theatre that is unapologetically populist, creating an audience experience that doesn’t suffer from the etiquette elitism that still torments newer and diverse crowds made to feel unwelcome in stuffy rooms.

11.01.2022 Coffs Coast Art Prize 2020 opened last night with many vying for entry into the Covid Safe exhibition space. With only 36 bodies and a 10 minute viewing allowed at any given time we were grateful for a very patient audience. We did I believe/hope satisfy most needs in the end and even had some return for more after their first 10 minute preview. We are delighted to congratulate the winners and highly commended for their acheivements but above all we thank all 110 artists w...ho made this exhibition become a reality. Due to the overwhelming response it was impossible to install all 160+ artworks in the space at Coffs Central. We have therefore taken advantage of the exhibition spaces in the Art Factory at Orlando street. The Installation of these works will not be complete until Wednesday 23rd. We apologise to those who may be disappointed by this outcome. Do yourself a favour and take the time to attend this show. There is something there for everyone. Much more than the 10 minutes on openining night would allow. More to come.....

03.01.2022 PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD COFFS COAST ART PRIZE 2020 The Coffs Harbour Arts Council is delighted to announce the winner of the $750 Coffs Coast Art Prize 2020 People’s Choice Award sponsored by Coffs Cardiology The winning artwork 'Lillie' by Sarah Fletcher of Glen Innes was commissioned by a Coffs Harbour family in memory of a much loved Golden Retriever. The brief for the work was to ‘capture her spirit’. Given the comments from audiences at the Coffs Harbour Art Prize it would... seem Sarah fulfilled her brief. The portrait of Lillie captured 7.5% of the votes cast. The talent and diversity of the artworks was echoed by most works receiving a share of the vote. Visitors to the 2020 Coffs Coast Art Prize were excited by the depth of talent and diversity of works exhibited and we were uplifted by the joy found amongst the exhibiting artists work by the viewing public. The Coffs Harbour Arts Council thanks all Major Sponsors for their support of the Coffs Coast Art Prize 2020. Sponsors included Coffs Cardiology, The Art Factory, The Book Warehouse, Mills-Thom Mechanical Repairs, News of the Area and Coffs Central. Coffs Harbour Arts Council is particularly grateful to Coffs Central for making this wonderful exhibition space available to support art and culture on the Coffs Coast. We would also like to thank the artists for their enthusiasm. We were totally overwhelmed by the response from this very active community. We thank you all. See more
