Entries for these sections will close on Sunday 31st May 2020. We will not be able to accept any entries after this date. Our dance dates will run between Friday 7th to Saturday 15th August, dependant on entry numbers. Our vocal dates will commence from Monday 17th August and run for approximately 3 days dependant on entry numbers. 20.01.2022 Eisteddfod Update On behalf of the dance committee we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding at this unprecedented time of uncertainty. The committee has weighed up all the possible options and with much disappointment, we have decided to cancel our group weekend, school’s day and gala concert sections, of our dance eisteddfod for 2020.... We will be continuing to plan the running of solo's, duo's, trio's and own choreography sections, within the dates advertised as, solo's week. We are currently in discussions regarding the status of our solo program. This is a really fluid situation and we are monitoring and responding to the situation as it evolves daily. We promise to keep you all updated every step of the way. Our decision to cancel rather than postpone our group weekend, comes as a result of considering many factors, these include, the health, safety and well-being of everybody involved, our dancers, families, adjudicators, volunteers and contractors. Flow on issues considered for the rescheduling of our competition were, studio exams, age group changeovers and our families already complicated schedules. At this stage our solo, duo, trio and own choreography entries, will remain open until the 7th April 2020 (which is our late entry cut-off date) due to the circumstances of this year, we will not be charging any late entry fees. Refunds will be honoured for all group weekend entries (less administration and or credit card fees) We ask for your patience at this time. A committee member will be in contact within the next 7 days to explain and arrange the refund process. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to coming back strong in 2021

15.01.2022 Hello everyone. It is timely to give you all an update on The 2020 Coffs Harbour Eisteddfod. It is with tremendous sadness and regret that we have taken the decision to cancel the Dance Eisteddfod for 2020.... This was an agonising decision for the Eisteddfod Committee to make and there were a number of contributing factors. Primarily, with the Covid-19 pandemic situation there remains no certainty that our Eisteddfod venue will be available for our anticipated August dates, or indeed for alternate dates as late as October. Further and very importantly, the planning and running of an event of this magnitude in the current environment and the necessity to legally conform with a large range of government regulations as a result of the pandemic have meant that these challenges have been too complex to overcome. In addition we have received advice from a number of dance teachers from our local dance studios that because of the significantly lessened participation of their students over the past few months that there is a likelihood of reduced readiness and preparedness both on a physical and mental level for an August competition. As we promised at the beginning of the pandemic, we will be refunding all competitors who have paid entry fees (excluding administration fees) for the 2020 Dance Eisteddfod. The Coffs Harbour Dance Eisteddfod Committee are currently working on some other novel options for 2020 and we will advise all of you accordingly in due course. On a brighter note, the Vocal Eisteddfod remains on track for August 17,18 and 19 at a venue which we are currently still in the process of confirming. We will advise you as more details come to hand. Once again, if we are also forced to cancel this event all entrants will be refunded. Vocal Solos and Duos Entries for these sections will still close on Sunday 31st May 2020. We will not be able to accept any entries after this date. Because of the Covid 19 pandemic local, state and federal government rules and guidelines continue to change on a regular basis. Whilst we are still actively planning our Eisteddfod for August 2020, we still may be forced to cancel our event depending upon government advice. Certainly, it is likely that the 2020 Coffs Harbour Eisteddfod will look a little different from what we have seen in previous years. 05.01.2022 Eisteddfod Update The Coffs Harbour Eisteddfod Society met today, to discuss the status of the 2020 Eisteddfod, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. A number of decisions were made and we would like to share them with all of you.... As you are no doubt aware, the dance group weekend, school’s day and gala concert sections, of our dance eisteddfod have been cancelled for 2020. Unfortunately today, the Drama, Piano and School's Chior Eisteddfods have also been cancelled for 2020. For the remaining sections, at this stage, the Committee Members were unanimous in their decisions that...The Show Must Go On!! We are delighted to advise that planning for the following sections will continue for 2020. Dance Solos, Duo's/Trios Vocal Solos and Duo's Instrumental Entries will remain open until April 7th. There will be no late fees applied for entries received, up until the April 7th closing date. No entries will be accepted after April 7th 2020. Should the Eisteddfod not go ahead, for any reason, please be advised that all entry fees (exlcluding administrative fees) will be refunded. The Eisteddfod Committee will continue to closely monitor all developments concerning the Co-vid 19 pandemic and its effects on the running of the 2020 Eisteddfod. We will keep all of you informed of any decisions which are made concerning the Eisteddfod, as they happen. 05.01.2022 Eisteddfod Update - 25/03/2020 As of midday, 23rd March 2020 the Australian Government has implemented more stringent measures to help protect our citizens. This see's the temporary closure of all entertainment venues. ... As a result, The Jetty Memorial Theatre, will be closed until further notice. The committee has worked tirelessly with all contractors involved, and has been able to secure new dates, in order to give us the best possible chance, to still run our amazing event. Our new event dates are as follows.... Dance: 7th - 15th August Solo's, Duo's/Trio's, Own Choreography & Championships. Vocal: 18th -21st August Solo's & Duo's Both held at our Jetty Memorial Theatre.
