22.01.2022 Take Thoughts Captive One of the most common ways we experience spiritual warfare is in the mind. The enemy is constantly hurling lies at us and trying to get us to agree with the discouraging, destructive, and dangerous things he says. But Satan isn’t creative. Creation belongs to God. So the best he can do is figure out which lies hurt us the most and torment us with them over and over again. The attacks impacting us most today are probably the same attacks he’s been throw...ing at us our whole lives. But his lies only have power when we choose to agree with them. When we agree with a lie, we give it credibility. We internalize it and let it become a part of who we believe we are. You’ll know you’ve made an agreement with a lie because it will sound like the voice in your head. If we heard an evil, hissing voice like something out of a movie, we’d never listen to it. But because it’s in our own voice, we’re so much more willing to believe it as truth. When our thoughts are aligned with God’s word, the devil can’t lie to us. The apostle Paul encourages us to take our thoughts captive. That means not letting our thoughts run wild, but checking our thoughts against the truth of God’s word. He also urges us to think on whatever is true, noble, lovely, and praiseworthy. He understood the mind is a battlefield, and he wanted us to cast out everything that doesn’t line up with God. Again, taking thoughts captive and casting out lies is active. We can’t simply think go away. Satan can’t read our minds. Sometimes we allow him to influence our thoughts when we pick up the lies he hurls at us, but only God is all-knowing and able to hear our thoughts. When Jesus was in the desert being tempted by Satan, Jesus spoke Scripture and told him to go away. In the same way, we have the authority to command him to flee in the name of Jesus. With practice, it gets easier to spot the inconsistencies between what you’re hearing and what God promises. You’ll get faster at taking thoughts captive, speaking against lies, and realigning with truth. Ask God to help you spot the lies and remind you of the truth so you can more easily fight back! 21.01.2022 A Prayer to Help You Persevere By: Kristine Brown As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. - James 5:11... Church attendance was down - again. Just when we thought we’d turned a corner and were seeing growth, vacation season brought with it less excitement and more empty seats. My husband and I had served in ministry for years, and we’d seen the ups and downs of church life before. But this time, we weren’t making a difference. So we thought maybe it was time to give it all up. I give up. A phrase many of us can relate to, because the temptation to quit can invade every area of life. We may struggle to persevere in prayer for our children who don’t serve God. Or we fight for years in ministry, only to see declining interest. We work to keep family relationships together but feel like we’re in a losing battle. Or we face that recurring illness one more time. Whatever part of our lives have triggered the desire to quit, rest assured. God knew we would need encouragement to persevere. As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. James 5:11 NIV

20.01.2022 Scripture refines us. Ephesians 5:22-27 God’s standard of holiness is impossible to attain without the power of His grace. All through the Old Testament, God’s people attempted to follow the rigorous rules about washing and maintaining cleanliness. It’s hard to imagine how much work went in to just staying clean in those ancient cultures, and how futile their efforts must have sometimes seemed.... To see pure, white laundry with no stains or wrinkles must have been rare indeed. But in today’s passage, we see all of that labor and effort transferred from us to Christ. It’s Jesus and His work for us on the cross that can achieve that kind of perfection. And it’s through the constant flow of God’s words of truth and grace washing over our hearts that helps us learn to rely on His cleaning work. Jesus loves us so much. The cross makes that clear. But that’s not the end of His work in our lives. Just like a husband’s care and support must continue beyond the wedding, the continued work of Christ’s love in our hearts continues on a daily basis. His Word reveals our sin to us. His Word can show us what He wants us to do with our lives. In response to His love, and out of a healthy reverence for Him, and because I love Him back, I can choose to do what’s right. Lord Jesus, I thank You so much for Your work for me on the cross that washed my heart clean from the stains of sin. I commit to continue to stay under the cleansing power of Your Word. I want to present myself to You without any trace of sin left in me. Wash me with the water of Your Word as I commit to read the Bible daily. In Your name I pray, amen.

19.01.2022 Scripture guides us. Do you think that God cares about even the smallest details of your life? Not just the big decisions like which job to pursue or who to marry, but the small steps that make up a day? Does God care about those? God has such wonderful guidance available in the huge volumes of His Word. Even those who dedicate their entire education and career to studying God’s Word still uncover new things in it throughout their lives. Every part of the path that our lives ...will take can be influenced and guided by God’s Word. Imagine yourself on a darkened path at night with only a small lantern to guide you. You can’t see way out into the blackness to the end of your journey, but the light does illuminate your next step. And it’s not until you move forward and take that step that the lamp will show you the step after that. You must use God’s Word as you’re moving forward for it to guide you. When you’re standing still in life, you see the same obstacles and issues day after day. Move forward trusting in God’s Word to guide you. And as you take each step, reach back into His Word to find the step after that. God may never choose to show you the destination or even the next leg of your journey. But He is faithful to light up your next step as you move forward and take it. Lord God, I want to walk along the path that You have set for my life. I know I won’t always be able to see where You’re leading me, but I commit to take each step as You light the way for me. Help me dig into Your Word to find the guidance and direction I need to walk in Your ways. Open my eyes to see where You are leading me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

17.01.2022 Receive Your Blessing By Kari Jobe TheLordbless you and keep you; theLordmake his face shine on you and be gracious to you; theLordturn his facetoward you and give you peace.Numbers 6:24-26, NIV For a moment, think about what it means to be blessed. Consider what it means to be kept.... In Hebrew, that wordblessdoesn’t represent a mere kind word from a friend. It’s an abundant, altogether blessing. And the wordkeptis equally profound, representing a circumspect guarding, a watchful keeping by our Heavenly Father. The scripture goes on, calling for the illuminating light of God that has the power to shine in the darkest places to be upon us, releasing kindness, mercy, and favor. It proclaims that the face of God would turn toward us and give us peace complete and total welfare for our every need. My friend, those words arethe blessingof God for you, your children, and your children’s children. It’s not a blessing you have to work for or earn. It’s a blessing you are invited to receive. The blessing is for your coming and your going, in the morning and the evening, in your weeping and rejoicing. Before you, behind you, all around you and within you, your loving Heavenly Father wants you to know that He is with you. He is for you. And He will never leave you or forsake you. Will you receive His blessing for you today? See more

15.01.2022 Scripture brings wisdom. When King Solomon was granted any request he could think of, he wisely asked for wisdom. We all need wisdom in every area of our lives, and the world has lots of wisdom to offer. But in most cases, we’ll find that the wisdom that comes from the logic, reasoning, and values of this world doesn’t line up with God’s wisdom. Every time we pick up the Bible to read it, we can take just a moment and ask God for wisdom. Ask Him to speak clearly to you throug...h His Word, showing you how it applies to your relationships and circumstances. In the same way as you would search for a valuable treasure, search the Scriptures for the wisdom you need. When you have a big decision to make, or feel stuck in some area of life, don’t move until you find the wisdom you need from God. Many times, God speaks wisdom into our lives through prayer or through other believers in our lives. But there’s often no substitute for the confidence that comes from seeing God’s direction right there in black and white. Although the book of Proverbs is specifically about practical wisdom, it can still be found all through the Bible through the example of someone’s story, through prophecies that speak beyond their time, through the teachings of Jesus, or through the letters of an apostle. Talk to God: Dear God, You alone have the wisdom that I so desperately need. Thank You for sending me the wisdom I need to live the life You’ve called me to. I don’t want to take any steps in life without Your wisdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.

13.01.2022 Welcome everyone to our Sunday Service. I hope you have a great time with God in worship & word.

13.01.2022 Scripture feeds our souls. Our bodies have an appetite that reminds us to keep them alive by feeding them. What is your cue to feed your spirit? For our relationship with God to grow stronger, we must feed it. God’s Word is that food. Just like a baby cries out for milk, a spirit made alive through faith in Christ has an appetite, too. But it’s so easy to distract ourselves from being in tune with this hunger and thirst. Entertainment, busyness, even good things like family a...nd friends can get in the way of maintaining consistent Bible study. You have to choose to make feeding your spiritual growth the top priority in your day. Instead of just checking it off and going on through your day, go slowly and really internalize it. Build your appetite for the Bible by mixing up your habits. If you typically read straight through from beginning to end, skip around. If you typically just do one reading plan at a time, try taking a particular book of the Bible and going through it multiple times. If you have a choice of versions in your language or speak another language, try reading in a different translation than you’re used to. Select a meaningful passage and read it over and over daily until you have it memorized. Or, rather than picking a passage at random, commit to a new Bible plan before you finish the previous one. What will you do to make feeding your soul as much of a priority as feeding your body? God, help me be faithful to reading Your Word. Stir a hunger and thirst in me for drawing closer to You through Your Word. I want my spiritual appetite to grow and my relationship with You to grow as a result. Help me to taste Your goodness through what I read each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

09.01.2022 Favorite Place by Kari Jobe In 1 Kings 8, we find the culmination of a dream that had been birthed in David’s heart. He had wanted to build a temple for the Lord. But God had made it clear that it would be his son, Solomon, who would carry out this calling. So, after Solomon became king, the work got underway. The temple was constructed and furnished. The Ark of the Lord’s Covenant was brought to the temple and all of Israel came together. They sacrificed more sheep, goats,... and cattle than they could keep count and the priests carried the Ark into the inner sanctuary of the Temple, the Most Holy Place. Then... a thick cloud filled the Temple of theLord. The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of theLordfilled the Temple of theLord.1 Kings 8:10-11, NLT The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud. They tried, but they couldn’t. Why? Because of the cloud. Because the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple that was built for Him to dwell in. I’ve always felt inspired by that story. I want to see that, to experience God’s glory so powerfully, to live from that place of intimacy with Him. The reality is, you and I can’t lead people to places with Jesus we haven’t been. And those priests in 1 Kings 8 didn’t even have access to the Holy Spirit. But now, you and I do! We are that Temple. We are the place where the Holy Spirit desires to dwell the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead (Rom 11:8). So, let’s press in. Undoubtedly, we need the Holy Spirit. We need the power and glory His presence brings. We need His help and hope in the situations of our lives. And the good news is, He desires that for us. He wants to draw closer to us. Let’s make His presence our favorite place. I don’t want to leave this moment I don’t want to miss one thing Is there anything You want to tell me I hang on every word You say I’m longing for a fresh encounter A wonder that I can’t explain Is there anything You want to show me Your presence is my favorite place - From "Favorite Place" See more

05.01.2022 Prayer is a powerful way to join the fight in this spiritual battle. If you’re not sure where to start, there’s good news. God intended it to be as easy as talking to a friend. He doesn’t care how we say our prayers, He just wants us to talk to Him. In fact, if God had His way, we would pray without ceasing throughout the day. It doesn’t necessarily mean praying long prayers one right after the other. It simply means that in every moment, with every breath, we have the oppor...tunity to intentionally acknowledge God’s presence and invite Him into our thoughts so that we can be more open and in tune with what He’s saying. For example, we may quickly ask for safety while we’re driving or thank God for His creativity when we see a beautiful flower. We may invite Him into our conversations with friends or ask Him to guide us in making a business decision. We may ask Him to guard our hearts and minds when we look in the mirror and don’t like what we see. The reality is, the voice of the enemy could become the constant in our lives if we don’t intentionally fill the space with God. The enemy loves to get us feeling isolated, but with prayer, we’re never alone. The night before His crucifixion, Jesus was overcome with grief. The Bible says He threw himself facedown on the ground and poured out His heart to His Father. He begged and pleaded for a different outcome but ultimately, surrendered to God’s will. This should be the example we follow. Our prayers don’t have to feel pretty. They don’t even have to be words! God knows the mournings of our heart and He fights for us. So, we can cry or be angry. God can handle our emotions. We don’t need to avoid our feelings when we feel attacked, but turn to God for help. Jesus, I know you’re here. And because I know your heart, I can trust that the negative things I’m hearing aren’t from you. I render them powerless in my life and ask you to remind me of the truth. Thank you that the enemy is already defeated and has no power. Show me where I need to fight. Show me how to fight. Thank you, Jesus, for never leaving me to fight this battle alone. Amen. See more

02.01.2022 The Spirit Says It’s Time by Kari Jobe It’s time for the sleeper to wake It’s time for the old winds to change I hear the Spirit say it’s time... It’s time for the dead man to arise It’s time for the great light to shine I hear the Spirit say it’s time - From "Let the Light In" I love the message of this song. My husband, Cody, wrote it with a couple of friends and I believe it’s such a prophetic word for this season. That in a time of lockdown, while feeling closed off from the world around us, separated from the people we love, afraid of the unknown The Spirit says it’s time. Time for what? Time to let the King of glory in. Time to see Heaven’s gates fling wide. Time to open up the windows of our hearts and souls and let the light in. Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.Psalms 24:7-10, NKJV Would you lift your head today? Will you welcome the King of glory? It’s my prayer we would continually seek fresh encounters with God’s presence. And I hope my album,The Blessing, will be an encouragement to you and help you step into that sacred place with Him. That it would be your favorite place where you believe for every wasteland to be whole again, where you experience the wonder of His glory, and where you receive every good thing He has for you. The Spirit says it’s time. See more

02.01.2022 The Trouble with Foxes Judges 15:1-6 For a lot of men, anger is a default emotion. When someone embarrasses us, rarely do we feel only embarrassment. Most of the time, that embarrassment also makes us angry. Nobody’s gonna make me look like a fool. They’ll be sorry they messed with me. That’s because when men experience something negative, anger is usually our automatic response. You might have thought Samson’s reaction from yesterday was over the topkilling 30 guys to pay o...ff a gambling debtbut he was just getting warmed up. Today we’ll see him really turn up the heat. After Samson stormed off from his engagement celebration, his bride’s father was embarrassed that his future son-in-law had just disappeared. So he did what any father in that position would do: he gave her to another man in the wedding party! (This may not make sense to us, but it was appropriate in their culture at the time.) In today’s reading, we’ll see what happens when Samson returns to find that his wife went to another man. Let’s review Samson’s greatest hits so far: He went someplace he had no business going. He lusted afterthen pursuedthe wrong woman. He ignored his parents’ advice (and God’s wisdom). He touched dead things. He got drunk. He taunted the Philistines with his riddle. He gave his own secret away. He left his wife at the altar to go kill a bunch of guys. And who was responsible for every single one of these actions? Samson himself. Samson keeps getting mad at the world, but in reality, almost everything that happened was his own fault. At any point, he could have backed off, even just a little. If he had just taken a minute to cool off, maybe he even could have turned things around. Instead, over and over, he escalated every situation, forcing others to react. Today, we’ll see how one more emotional decision from Samson forces an emotional response from the Philistinesand costs him everything he cares about. What about you? If you’re angry at those around you, where is your responsibility in that? See more
