08.01.2022 Legendary Dick Van Dyke is 92 years old & still kicking ass. Last night, me & several friends were fortunate to see him front a 6-piece jazz combo at the small ...Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood. Here he is doing Fats Waller's 1930s song "Viper's Drag." 07.01.2022 The Company of Seven is saddened to hear of the passing of Irene Bishop. Irene was a dedicated member of the Company in its hey day. After emigrating from England, Irene performed with the Company for the first time in 1966 in ‘Blythe Spirit’ in the role of Mrs Bralman. Irene was a talented actor and went on to perform regularly with the Company, directed as well as backstage activities. During her time in Millicent she also was a member of the committee over a number of year...s and at one stage used to produce a monthly newsletter which was always full of Irene’s wicked sense of humour and interesting highlights. Irene originally made the suggestion to write the Company’s history for our 40th reunion. Irene spent countless hours collating the history with John Morris taking on the role of writing it along with Val Michelmore and Chris Hollingsworth which resulted in the book ‘A Personal Recollection’. Irene was also heavily involved with the 40th reunion celebrations. Irene moved to Munno Para in her later years but still kept up to date with the Company’s activities. Condolences to Irene’s family. RIP Irene. See more
