22.01.2022 We know pregnancy can be stressful regardless of the pandemic. So mummies-to-be out there, remember to take time out to relax as "stress is a modifiable risk factor" as rightly pointed out in the article.

21.01.2022 Many women develop gestational diabetes during their pregnancy and it's really great to know that studies show Metformin can be a helpful drug. If you are concerned about your blood sugar levels during pregnancy, be sure to highlight it to your obstetrician at your next visit.

20.01.2022 Who says you can't be active when you are pregnant? Sadaf Majdy Khan, featured in this article, ran her first marathon whilst 8 weeks pregnant. Of course she ran it by her doctor first but kudos to her. Great work!

20.01.2022 Birth of a different kind. Mei Xiang the panda gives birth to a healthy pink fuzz-covered cub amidst the pandamic. It was a miracle considering the odds were against her from conception to birth during these crazy times. What a heartwarming story? Happy Tuesday all!

13.01.2022 Today the main hospital building at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital is celebrating its 50th anniversary. On 8 September 1970, the general hospital building ...was opened by the Hon. Sir David Brand, Premier of WA and blessed by the Archbishop of Perth, the Most Rev. Launcelot John Goody. For 50 years, the hospital’s main building has been a landmark of Mount Lawley. Through all the changes, the main building has remained robust and continued to care for generations of families. 12.01.2022 It's early days but such great news. "The reasons for pregnancy's positive effect are not fully understood but it's thought the answer lies in our immune system - which misbehaves in MS but is dampened during pregnancy."

10.01.2022 August’s maternity stats are in with 64 babies born in our Family Birthing Unit and two of our own midwives announcing their pregnancies! A huge congratulations to you all. If you are interested learning more about our maternity services visit: http://bit.ly/MTLmaternitys

09.01.2022 Response has been overwhelming for our VBAC workshop and we've just added a few more places. Seats are running out fast and are very limited. Register fast!

08.01.2022 I'm sure a lot of pregnant mummies out there have asked "Will COVID-19 hit me harder because I'm pregnant?" Have a read of this article to stay informed.

05.01.2022 It's important not to take on too much during and especially later on in your pregnancy. Studies now show that adding too much stress during pregnancy can have a negative impact on your baby's health so whether it's moving to a new home, new job or major renovations, try to put off stressful changes if it's within your control.

05.01.2022 If you are planning to get a pregnancy test, we recommend you don't waste your money on a fancy digital pregnancy test. Why? Because the cheap paper strips does pretty much the same thing without the price tag. Read this to find out how we are all being fooled.

01.01.2022 Thank you everyone who turned up for our 2nd VBAC workshop last Thursday! It was full house with a room full of lovely ladies and their very supportive partner, family and friends attending the session to learn more about VBACs. We hope you enjoyed the education session and came away with more knowledge about VBAC and at least some of your questions answered. We apologise for running behind schedule that and we really appreciate everyone staying right till the end despite it being late. Thanks again for joining us. Like our page to stay informed of our upcoming workshops and we looking forward to meeting you again!
