09.01.2022 A love for cricket and seeing what close friends with breast cancer go through, prompted Health and Knowledge Precinct-based Gold Coast Health staff to wear pin...k every Wednesday in support of the McGrath Foundation supporting breast cancer patients. Instigator, Shaurin Shah, lead architect from Digital Engagement said staff from Digital Engagement and Solution Delivery Services, part of Digital Transformation Services, based at COHORT have pledged $1000 and so far raised $500 for the Foundation. I know from experience with a couple of close friends affected by breast cancer that a diagnosis changes a person’s life in many ways while impacting family and friends. During one of the lunchroom discussions at COHORT, a few of us were coincidently wearing pink shirts and the idea of pink Wednesdays was born and combined with a charitable cause of raising money for the McGrath Foundation. We hear about all those who do great work and make a difference. But we don’t have to be great to do good if we simply follow what Mother Teresa famously said once: ‘We can’t all do great things, however, we can all do small things with great love,’ he said. The initiative has been a team effort from everyone, including (from left) Tyson Kleidon, Shaurin Shah, Kelly Ruming, Megan Buckman, Roy Bekkeli and David Morse. See more
