01.01.2022 There are a lot of queries coming in about JobKeeper payment. - Here is what we know so far; and - What employers can do. What we know so far-... Legislation on this announcement is still being developed. Information is changing daily and I don't have all the answers yet. As soon as accurate, confirmed advice can be given, it will be. There are a lot of different structure scenarios and particular business circumstances that need to be closely assessed. Our industry is lobbying hard to help as much as possible. JobKeeper Payments will not flow until May. If eligible, back payments will be made to 1st March. What employers can do now: 1 Register your interest in JobKeeper Payments with the ATO here: https://www.ato.gov.au/Job-keeper-payment/ This is essentially a mailing list at the moment, with future developments to come. 2 Continue to process payroll as normal where possible for April. 3 Ensure STP compliance. 4 Be kind to everyone (including your accountant)
