Leanne, Sophie, Angela and I are busy at Kinder getting it thoroughly cleaned, organising equipment and collaborating to come up with innovative ideas to keep us all connected even though we need to be apart at this time. Tomorrow and Friday I will post some pictures taken over the term of the children engaged in play. Please get in touch with us if you need to connect, and know that we are here to support you. Virtual hugs and high fives, Heidi

The use of real tools in the classroom honours childrens abilities and intelligence and sends a message that they are capable. It also heightens their self awareness and the awareness of others around them as the consequences of misusing the tools are very personal and very real...

12.01.2022 At Colac East Kindergarten we display childrens artwork with respect. Not only does this fill the room with beauty, it extends and expands childrens exploration of their world. Author Carol Seefeldt (2002) writes, "when children know their ideas and their work are valued, they are affirmed. They know they can achieve."

04.01.2022 In preparation for Children’s Week we asked our families to talk to their children about connection. How do you connect with your family and friends? With th...is question in mind children were encouraged to take part in our virtual art exhibition featuring artwork illustrating their idea of connection. Art expression is a way for children to communicate their feelings and thoughts, to have a voice through illustration about their experience and to share it, rather than hold it inside. As parents/carers we can be witness and hear their story in picture which encourages conversation and builds connection within your family. Take a look at some of the highlights from our virtual art exhibition! #childrensweek #childrensrights #childrensactivities #geelong #Colac #BCYFstrongertogether
