We are running an exciting competition for all people 18 years and under (or older and still at school/home school by enquiry) and ...living or attending school in the Colac Otway Shire. With cash prizes and prize packs. Can you imagine a waste free future? Do you think you have a solution to waste? Maybe you’ve thought of a better alternative to soft drink bottles. Or you’ve had an idea about better ways to do recycling. Put your idea into any artform, you can paint a picture of a waste free future or write a short story or poem, any artform is acceptable, it’s up to you, just send it to us in a message along with your name, phone number and email by August 15th & then complete the short form we will send you, to go in the running for one of 4 great prizes. First prize is $100 cash Second prize is $50 cash Third prize is a prize pack (details to be announced). And there is also a special Caring for Country prize thanks to our friends at Caracaramigen House; The Colac Aboriginal Gathering Place. 16.01.2022 @SouthernOtwayLandcareNetwork are hosting this webinar about the South African Weed Orchid. This weed is growing across #swvictoria and beyond, and is disperse...d easily through very tiny seeds and other avenues. It's pretty invasive. This should be a good talk to learn how to reduce it without inadvertently spreading it. You have to contact Sophie from SOLN directly to get the Zoom link: [email protected] It's actually a lovely looking and interestingly designed plant. It's just unfortunate that it is introduced and takes over an area. It also looks similar to other natives so make sure you ID it properly before killing it. #weeds #southafricanweedorchid #slowbutsteady
