But...although it was very windy with squalls passing over us at times, thank heaven for raincoats and great volunteers and wonderful horses, we got through the morning. 11.01.2022 A beautiful morning for a sad time...this morning we said goodbye to dear Bella, one of our trusted RDA horses. Bella was diagnosed with Cushings, which really compromises the immune system. Bella hasnt been well for some time, not really getting better when we administered antibiotics, an infection had spread through her body, so it was decided that the kindest thing to do for her was to say goodbye. Bella went with a mouthful of her favourites, half an apple and lucerne h...ay, still in her mouth, after the yummiest breakfast. Thank you Bella for your years of service to RDA, you were a real trouper over the years, and will be sadly missed. Dear Floss was the one who stood guard over Bella while we waited for her burial. 10.01.2022 So very, very proud of my little mare...another challenge accepted and accomplished!! A stroke couldnt stop this man getting on a horse again, with the help of his physiotherapist, Mark Zampatti, family and friends, and of course, the perfect horse!!
