25.01.2022 The downside of being born between Christmas and New Year's is that there's competing energy...the upsides are that you get parties thrown regardless and can use any birthday vouchers at the post Christmas sales! It's been an other extraordinary year for our boss Paul and we're grateful to have him as our lead. Today we're wishing him all the good things he deserves. Happy Birthday from the team xo

25.01.2022 Celebrating 20 years with Dr Cuc Dang at Cole Dental today! THREE CHEERS FOR 20 YEARS! Hip Hip Hooray, hope you have enjoyed your day!

25.01.2022 5 Today is DAY 5 of Dental Health Week and we're focusing on getting 'sugar savvy'. Have you been following our sweet tips this week? We hope so. You may be wondering how you can take this knowledge out into the world...so here's a quick tip for your shopping trips.... When looking at the nutritional labels of food, take note of the serving quantity of sugar and divide by 4. This gives you the teaspoon value of sugar. For example: If a serve size contains 10g of sugar divide that by 4 and you get 2.5 teaspoons of sugar. This can make it easier to visualise where you sit with your recommended daily intake of 6 teaspoons (or less) or sugar. Stay tuned, stay bright! the team at Cole #ColeDental #DentalHealthWeek #SugarSavvy

20.01.2022 October is smile month at Cole! It's a month for us to focus on delivering kindness and care; and to have some fun with our clients. To celebrate we're giving away this bestselling book about happiness and the quirks of human nature. This bestselling book reveals what scientists have discovered about the things that make us happy. In this brilliant, witty, and accessible book, renowned Harvard psychologist Daniel Gilbert describes the foibles of imagination and illusions of ...foresight that cause each of us to misconceive our tomorrows and misestimate our satisfactions. With penetrating insight and sparkling prose, Gilbert explains why we seem to know so little about the hearts and minds of the people we are about to become. For a chance to win, like and share this post. Easy! And if you need an excuse to get in to see us, now's an extra special month to do so. Give Karen a call (07) 3205 5811

17.01.2022 Hey Sugar! As Dental Health Week draws to a close we hope you've been following along to understand the importance of being sugar savvy. As a final hoorah to our sugar focussed posts here's a sweet treat to round out the week. For some this will come as a shock to learn that before Netflix's Riverdale there was a much more sugary animated series called Archie....for others this will be a trip down sweet memory lane. (Jughead was much more innocent before he joined the So...uthside Serpents!) We hope you enjoy this slice of fun and colour on your weekend! https://bit.ly/39CwVnG Stay bright! the team at Cole #ColeDental #DentalHealthWeek #SugarSavvy

16.01.2022 Whoo-hoo! It's a special week for us...Dental Health Week. It's an important time to reflect on how we're treating the smiliest parts of ourselves so we'll be sending out daily tips on keeping those pearlies in mint condition. Tempting as it is to think that everyone is practicing good oral health, the reality is that the oral health of many Australians is not where it should be. Less than 50% of Australians adults have had a dental check-up in the last 12 months. ... 53% of Australians brush their teeth only once-a-day. Nearly 40% never floss or clean between their teeth. 73% of young people (14-18 years) are consuming too much sugar. 47% of adults (18+ years) are consuming too much sugar. 1Today is DAY 1 and we're focusing on getting 'sugar savvy'. Your overall sugar intake should be less than 6 teaspoons a day (that works out to 24 grams of sugar). Start a habit to check the labels on your packaged food to learn exactly how much sugar it contains. When calculating your daily total look at the 'per serving' column but to make it easier when comparing products (for example brand vs brand) check out the 'per 100g' column. Tomorrow we'll take a look at common sources of sugar that aren't necessarily packaged up. Stay tuned, stay bright! the team at Cole #ColeDental #DentalHealthWeek #SugarSavvy

15.01.2022 This year has been like no other, and while so much has been uncertain, one thing we do know is that our community is amazing. Events have taught us all what really matters, including how important the smiles we see every day really are. We want to pause for a moment to say thanksfrom the Cole team, we're extending our heartfelt gratitude to you, our friends. ... *** We'll be closing for the holidays Thursday 24 December 2020 and reopening from Monday 4 January 2021

15.01.2022 Happy Anniversary Diony...We hope you have a wonderful day! Love from the Cole Dental Team!

15.01.2022 Great news for anyone needing dental crown workwe've just invested in new technology that allows us to diagnose, mould, create and fit crowns in as little as 90 minutesand we're not talking the glittery or flowery kind! For anyone who's had crowns before you'll understand that the process needs accuracy and usually takes multiple visits. We're happy to say that with our fancy, new gear we can minimise both your time and stress. If you've been putting off having your teeth treated because they're worn or damaged, give us a call to chat about our new 'same day crowns' option.

14.01.2022 PARTY TIP If you're heading out to a party, here's a quick reminder to take along a bottle opener! There are many videos doing the rounds (that make us cringe) of people opening bottles with their teeth. While this may seem like a great party trick, trust us when we say that you may never forgive yourself. ... Using your teeth as a tool for opening items or ripping things can lead to painful cracked and chipped teeth. Unfortunately, it's something that we as dentists, get to see too often. So save yourself the discomfort and expense, and be prepared when you next head outtake an opener...and if you want to impress others...maybe learn to juggle

12.01.2022 2Today is DAY 2 of Dental Health Week and we're focusing on getting 'sugar savvy'. We usually think of sugar as the white granules we spoon into our food and drinks... but sweetness comes in many forms and they all can impact the health of your teeth and body. Not only should you be mindful of your sugar intake from labelled foods, but you should be vigilant when it comes to 'hidden' sugars too. Here's a list of sugars that lurk in other forms:... - Baking sugars like Raw, Brown, Castor, Icing - Cane juice and sugar - Plant sugars such as Date, Coconut, Agave, and Palm - Caramel - Syrups: like Corn, high fructose corn, Malt, Maple and Golden - Dextrose - Fructose (in fruits and vegetables) - Fruit juice and concentrates - Glucose - Honey - Maltodextrin - Maltose - Molasses - Rice malt - Saccharose - Treacle Tomorrow we'll take a closer look at hidden sources of sugar. Stay tuned, stay bright! the team at Cole #ColeDental #DentalHealthWeek #SugarSavvy

08.01.2022 It's no understatement that 2020 has been a tough one so far... though in the broader context there are still many suffering a more difficult time. Dr Fred Hollows dedicated his life to giving eyesight back to those less fortunate and needlessly blind. The surprising thing is that as little as $25 can restore sight and positively change someone's life forever! Imagine that giving up a single, fancy breakfast could be a game changer for a little one being able to read and play. Our amazing Dr Cuc is on the run again ... but rather than trying to catch her, why not chip in for Fred's (Hollows) Big Run. So far Cuc's raised funds to rescue the eyesight of over 25 people! 06.01.2022 3 Today is DAY 3 of Dental Health Week and we're focusing on getting 'sugar savvy'. Many of us are trying to do the right thing by choosing healthy options for meals and snacks... but there's a sneaky secret the food industry doesn't want you to knowoften when things are labelled as 'No Added Sugar' we think YAASSS we're in the clear, but the sad reality is that no added sugar does NOT equal sugar free! Many of these products that proudly claim the 'no added sugar' label... can still contain a LOT of sugar. For example if you have a small 250mL glass or bottle of 100% fruit juice, you'll almost have reached your daily intake limit of sugar! That's right, one serve contains 5 teaspoons or 20 grams of sugar. Imagine sitting down and eating 5 teaspoons of sugar in a single hit. Examples of natural (or intrinsic) sugar products: - Fruit - Milk - Yoghurt We also get stung by products that instead have alternatives such as: - Maple syrup - Coconut sugar - Rice malt syrup Natural v Added Sugar? It's true that unprocessed food, even with natural sugars offers other nutrients that are important for our health and wellbeing. On the other hand processed foods offer limited nutritional goodness but plenty of sugar. So whenever you can, opt for fresh, unprocessed whole foods. Your body will thank you and your teeth will beam! All this sugar talk...but WHY??? Stay tuned, stay bright! the team at Cole #ColeDental #DentalHealthWeek #SugarSavvy

06.01.2022 4Today is DAY 4 of Dental Health Week and we're focusing on getting 'sugar savvy'. Let's face it, we're all tempted by sweetness now and then. Because SWEEEEET. But as dental health rangers we see the dark side of sugar much too often. So while our team may come across as the fun police, we're really just trying to get the truth out there. Sugar ain't your friend, friend! What's so bad about sugar you ask? As we've said over the past few days, our sugar intake comes not on...ly from treats, but from the hidden sugar in our foods. It's this combo that creates a situation of us taking in much more sugar than our bodies can efficiently deal with. From there, the sugar creates and environment in our mouths that triggers an open rave party for bacteria! Rather than busting moves, they collect together to form toxic acid. The ugly, burny sort of acid that draws minerals out of your teeth forcing them to weaken. If there's no break in the party this created cocktail starts to erode tooth enamel....and that means decayholesouch Certain actions will help clean up the mess: brushing, flossing, fluoride, and saliva production. However it's always, ALWAYS better to change up your eats to snacks and drinks with less sugar. Stay tuned, stay bright! the team at Cole #ColeDental #DentalHealthWeek #SugarSavvy

06.01.2022 Are you smiling? You should be! It's a great time to get your smile sparkling ready for the holiday seasonbook a visit now and catch us during Smile Month.
