24.01.2022 How GREAT is the new Kitchen in the Annex of OUR Community Hall ? Clean and Smart eh ? Thanks to all whom put the effort into making this major beneficial change to our Community Hall. Special thanks to Kristy at Brayco Stainless for all her help planning and sourcing our new kitchen.

21.01.2022 There's a working bee on at the Coles Bay Hall on Sunday October 1st. 9am to 1pm, followed by a BBQ. We need to chuck stuff, sort stuff and clean stuff. Turn up whenever you can to give a hand. Contact Jen or Nigel for more info.

20.01.2022 If you've got a Doctors appointment in Coles Bay, or are coming to the FAI meeting tomorrow in the Coles Bay Hall Annex, you're in for a "warm" surprise. Last week council installed reverse cycle aircon/heater units in the annex and doctors rooms. From reports so far, they heat up the rooms quickly. Thanks to Dr Liz Brown for championing the cause and need, Jeremy Meadowcroft and Nathan Lucas for installing them, Adrian O'Leary from Glamorgan Council for helping to resolve the issue, and Gemma Hackett-Kelly for giving up beach time so her mum could organise this for the rest of you. So when you're warm and toasty waiting to see Dr Liz, think of Gemma, as she's given up the most to make this happen. Donations of schmackos will be gratefully received! #jengetsitdone

10.01.2022 Please share so that we get to as many people in our community as we can. And come along and have your say.

09.01.2022 In the recent storms one of the side doors of the hall snapped off. This was probably because council hadn't fixed the broken lock. I had reported months ago, but the "lets hold it shut with a rock" method failed to keep the door securely shut in the winds we've just had. As you'll see, I gave it a good check-up, but I'm afraid the diagnosis is that council are now up for a new door, and of course still need to repair the lock! Obviously the hall is not really usable at the moment. Definitely can't heat it! Thanks to Paul McCauley, Kristin and Genie for their assistance moving all the furniture in to the store room this morning.

07.01.2022 The Coles Bay Hall are very excited to help host Coles Bay Trivia Night, a fundraiser for the proposed Coles Bay Community Gym Project. What a fabulous event this is looking to be. When? 06.01.2022 There's new kitchen benches for the Coles Bay Community Hall. The kitchen has even been painted. No more stunted stinky cupboards for us!

04.01.2022 You may have seen an earlier post looking for new Hall members as there are not enough of us currently to equitably share the load. There is now an expression of interest period open to join the Coles Bay Hall Committee. You will find information related to this at this link on the Glamorgan Spring Bay Council website. http://gsbc.tas.gov.au/community-pro/section-24-committees/ If you are interested in joining, the expression of Interest period closes June 22nd 2018. Please ...complete the application form and forward where instructed. There is still an opportunity for a fuller complement of Hall Committee members to apply for a grant with the Tas Community Fund to build a new Annex, including new doctors rooms and a kitchen. This new annex project is currently on hold. It has been put on hold by the current Chair of the Committee, not by council, as there are not enough people prepared to do the work required to obtain a Tas Community Fund Major Infrastructure grant. Council are prepared to move ahead with the project. We as a Community are not! The next opportunity to put in a grant application is now July 2019. There is no guarantee we'll be making an application at this point either. It's up to all of you. To be very clear, the new Annex will not be built until there are enough volunteers to share the load for the preparatory work involved in obtaining a Tas Community Fund Grant to partially pay for the project. If you have any questions you can message us at our page.
