24.01.2022 We are focused on continuing our support for the most vulnerable and isolated people in our community. We will be using technology to help us connect with people who are socially isolated during COVID-19. Social isolation amongst our senior citizens is becoming a serious health concern putting them at risk of suffering depression and anxiety. Our Foundation is proud to be partnering with Aurous and 4 Voices Global Limited. Through Aurous, we will participate in weekly convers...ations with a senior citizen via video conferencing. These conversations will provide a social connection for seniors who are isolated and living independently. With 4 Voices, we will support people experiencing social isolation and digital exclusion by helping them learn new digital skill, such as using Zoom or setting up an email account, thereby allowing them to stay safe and socially connected. #socialconnection #community #CBPFoundation See more

07.01.2022 Following the suspension of in-person hearings, we have looked at alternative ways we can continue to contribute to the judicial process whilst still ensuring the safety of our people, our clients and the health and wellbeing of the broader community generally. We have set-up Remote Court Rooms in each of our offices to ensure our legal practice is well equipped with the technology to virtually attend Court. Yesterday Rose Raniolo and Ben Rissman were involved in our first... hearing in our Melbourne offices Remote Court Room. The hearing was a contribution dispute in the Dust Diseases List of the Victorian Supreme Court and it was the first case to trial the technology. The parties uploaded an electronic court book containing all documents to be tendered as exhibits or put to witnesses, and as each document was being referred to, the document came up on screen for all parties to see. Today, they are progressing with Day 2 of the hearing from their homes. Its all running very smoothly, with minimal interruptions thus far to the running of the case.
