24.01.2022 Had a great time up at Leeton at the 2018 Leeton Country Roundup over the weekend. With a diverse and very talented line up of artists, as well as a wonderful crowd, the whole show was an absolute ripper. After a big day of MCing on the Saturday, I had a great turn up for the poets breakfast on the Sunday morning. Some excellent walk up contributors, as well as cameos from Errol Gray and Chad Morgan (AKA John Battle) made for a memorable morning. A bit knackered after a long trip home but it was all well worth it. A huge thanks to Mark, Sharon, Rocky and all the team at Leeton for their outstanding efforts and extremely generous hospitality. That's why the crowds keep growing each year at the Leeton Country Roundup.
24.01.2022 If you fancy yourself as a writer of verse then you may be interested in entering a section of the Written Comp at this years Oracles of The Bush. C'mon, put pen to paper and submit your entry and see how you go. Hopefully we'll see you in Tenterfield in April 2018.
24.01.2022 This year's lineup at the Leeton Country Roundup 2018
24.01.2022 Off to the Port Fairy Folk Festival this weekend. Should be a great few days working with Jim Haynes and Greg North. If you're going along, please manage to drag your bum out of bed for the Aussie Morning shows at the Pavilion between 9.00 & 10.15am. A good laugh is a fantastic way to kick start your day, so come along and say g'day.
23.01.2022 We're also thrilled to announce that singer / songwriter Kevin McCarthy will be joining us all the way from Darwin. I've known Kev for several years, working w...ith him at the annual Lake School of Celtic Song & Dance in Koroit. Kev's current show is entitled 'Crocodile Country' and features songs and stories that weave a rich musical tapestry of life in Northern Australia - a land where tropical sunsets are a constant delight, and the dance of the campfire throws flickering light across a murky tidal creek ... where red beady eyes are waiting to feed! Yes folks, if there's a yarn to be told about the Top End, then Kev's your man, and I can't wait to get him down to Avoca to inflict a bit of NT culture on the town. See more
23.01.2022 Off to Weethalle today to MC the main stage and host the Sunday morning Poets Breakfast at the inaugural Weethalle Country Music Muster. Looking forward to a ripper of a weekend. They have a great line up including Ged & Trudy Hintz, Tom Maxwell, Reg Poole, Errol Gray, Grant Luhrs, Sharron Benjamin, The Byrne Sisters and Owen Blundell.

17.01.2022 Lest We Forget. What a beautiful morning in our driveway.
15.01.2022 A huge thanks to all who came out to see "The Man they call The Banjo" at the Celtic Club on Sat night. It was a hoot to bring the show back after a long break and I don't think there has been an audience quite as enthusiastic as the one we had the other night. Congrats to our new cast members, Bronwyn, Pat and Anthony who all did a fantastic job first up. Looking forward to our next show in Learmonth next Sat night. "Every-bodies gossiping about it !!"
14.01.2022 Kieran O'Connell and the lads from Shanachee are coming back to entertain the good folk of the Avoca district after a fantastic performance last year. They are ...back by popular demand, not just from the locals but by popular demand from them as well. They had such a great time at Avoca last year that they were more than happy to return again in 2018. The finale to last years show was an absolute ripper so the lads will be pulling out all the stops to take us out with an even bigger bang. You'd be mad to miss it so make sure you get online and grab your tickets early at www.trybooking.com/TSSJ They go on sale from the 5th Feb. See more

08.01.2022 I had a wonderful day today conducting my Bush Poetry workshops with the students from the Avoca Primary School. From the preps right through to the 5s & 6s, we... all had a rhyming great time and hopefully I've inspired plenty of kids to pick up their pens and paper and start writing poems. Certainly the 5s & 6s were keen to get a start on their poems, some of which will be performed at the beginning of the Big Avoca Do on Sat March 24th. You'd be amazed at what these young imaginative minds can come up with, so to find out for yourselves, make sure you come along to the show and support the kids. It will be a fantastic start to a fantastic show. A big thanks to Mr Elliott for inviting me back again this year. Regards, Col. See more
06.01.2022 A blast from the past. Me & Neil McArthur, AKA The Inglorious Bardsters doing a show with Loaded Dog at Fairbridge FF in WA in 2016. After four years none of us have worked out what we actually did for those 75 minute but it seemed to work.
05.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Gayle & Alan and all the committee and volunteers at the Weethalle Country Music Muster for putting on "one very fine festival" over the weekend. The crowds were there in their droves, the artist line-up was sensational and everything just ticked along very nicely indeed. For their inaugural show it was a ripper of a result. Thanks to one and all who made Jen and I feel so welcome and thanks to all those brave souls who dragged themselves out of the sack after a big Saturday night to join me and the walk ups at the Poets Breakfast. It was a fantastic morning of laughs. Good on ya Weethalle!
01.01.2022 Put this one in the diary folks.
