24.01.2022 good morning all. So I get quite sad when participants say that there are no good Support Coordinators out there. I now some are not so great but there are some amazing SCs out there. This got me to thinking. How do we as SCs help participants to sort out the SC that is capable and a good fit for them. I am going to put a checklist together for participants to use when interviewing SCs. I would put questions such as Explain the role of SC? What is the difference between Cap...acity and core? I would put in a scenario such as "I have MS and I need to get support to do housework; attend physio; get my children to school; get to my poetry class; and have my gardening done. What would you suggest for me? They could then get a feel for the knowledge and creativity of the SC. Do you think that there is a need for this kind of support? Is there something already out there? 18.01.2022 I never thought that running my own business would be plain sailing but nothing really prepares you for the curve balls that get thrown your way. I have never thought of myself as a procrastinator however I have found myself saying when XXX happens is when I can start doing yyy. In a strange way it has been a great growth opportunity for me. I realise that I have been hesitating and using external factors as an excuse to delay getting on with things. What is one thing you have learned the hard way?

16.01.2022 Had a call from a new participant who had her home support service yesterday for the first time. My participant was absolutely thrilled with the quality of the work and the friendliness of the person who attended her home yesterday. I want to thank Kristy and Pete from Riverina Cleaning and maintenance for the fantastic job done for my participant who has had a poor experience in the past.
