17.01.2022 Number of the Day! A great open ended numeracy warm up to get those neurons firing and ready for the main task. Number of the day activity gives children the chance to show all they know about that number and place value as well as giving context and meaning to numbers. Need a challenge? Ask for expanded notation, decimal notation, division, the list goes on.... #numeracy #numberoftheday #placevalue

16.01.2022 Area Dice Game What a great warm up to introduce the session, with a focus on arrays and the relationship to multiplication. Played collaboratively with a partner, this should only take 5mins, getting those neurons firing and preparing for the rich task. #mathschallenge #warmup #makemathsmakesense #mathstutoring

11.01.2022 The best classroom is not quiet- the best classrooms look like different sizes groups, active learning, free seating arrangements. And they sound like buzzing discussion, listening and sharing, and collaboration. There are times for individual work but in a 21st century, my students will need to work collaboratively in the work place, so why not now??

06.01.2022 The Learning Pit is a great visual for students to realise their mindset to learning is about rising to challenges and failures. The learning from this is where we find success through EFFORT, ATTITUDE & PERSERVERANCE. Even in kindergarten you can apply this and we call it the learning rainbow

06.01.2022 I’ve been MIA during the holidays and the first weeks of term as I prepared for two more little feet to join our family. I’ve also been back at work this term casually. Our baby is due to arrive in 6 weeks & I hope to return to tutoring for a handful of students soon after. Leave a message with the Collaborative Coaching page or phone number to book in sessions for your child’s learning needs and I can accomodate. Have a beautiful week, C.C
