24.01.2022 Good morning Turtles. Hope everyone is well. I have to report that this Sunday 8 March we will have to cancel again. The weather gods are not on our side this season. There is 1.9m high tide at 8am with a 2m swell so the pool will be dangerous to teach in. They are also predicting rain. The following week Sunday 15 March, please be advised that the Head Above Water 24 hour swim event will be at the pool however they have assured us that this will not impact on our lesson...s. Please allow extra time to find parking and be early for lessons. Look forward to seeing all our Turtles on the 15 March. All the best Turtles Team

05.01.2022 Parents, we need your help! After the announcement on Tuesday of the reopen of Gyms Dancing and Children sport, we were mention in some indoor pools with rest...rictions, we have been waiting patiently for two days for clarification, and have received nothing. We are frustrated at the government's slow response time to something that is so important. We are unable to plan anything for our return. We are asking you to get behind us #theforgottenindustry and share our post. Our focus is children and the prevention of deaths. We are educating children on learning to swim, life saving essential skills. We are a country that loves its water. But without those necessary skills, our children are left vulnerable. Leading cause of deaths of children under 5 years old in Australia is drowning. Dive In Swimming Academy, along with all our fellow swim schools, are frustrated at the Government's slow response time on something that is so important. Here are some impact facts: Learn to swim is an essential education service. Children are not undertaking this essential education are now at great risk around water. This applies in both winter and summer. Our facilities are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our students, families and staff during COVID-19. Chlorine is a disinfectant. It has been stated by health authorities that COVID-19 cannot survive in correctly managed swimming pools. All registered swim schools are tested multiple times throughout the day for maintenance of chlorine and chemical levels. Our centres are prepared for learn to swim classes to return, yet the government are not doing anything to help us. We scratch our heads at how gyms, cafes/restaurants and even dance schools are able to open their doors from 13th June, with class sizes of 10. Our class sizes are only 4 to 6 students. Yet we hear nothing. We need to open for the safety of our children, especially around water. These are ESSENTIAL LIFESAVING SKILLS. Thank you
