15.01.2022 Congratulations Grant and Naomi Ritchie on your special day yesterday. Their wedding had been planned earlier in the year but had been postponed because of COVID. 14.01.2022 This was a wedding of mine meant to be on Hamilton Island Catseye Beach on 4/4/2020! First of all I had two special connections to this couple! The Groons name was Gavin (my son's name and his birthday is 4/4!). Gavin and Megan went from having 46 at their wedding to 39 and then Hamilton Island went into lockdown. They decided to bring their wedding forward to 27/3 with 10 people attending at Calliope their home town. As you know this soon changed and they were only all...owed 5! They wanted to be married and asked me if I would go to Calliope. I suggested they try and find a Celebrant closer to them but if they could not get anyone I would drive there. They were able to get another Celebrant to marry them and with the help of local business they were able to incorporate a little of Hamilton Island into their family dinner after. Congratulations Gavin and Megan Howard and I was so happy I was able to help you plan your ceremony. I wish you every happiness and maybe a renewal of your vows on Hamilton Island in 12 months. 05.01.2022 A note for my lovely couples! The below are our new regulations for wedding couples which we are obliged to follow: the next few months will be difficult for all. We will come out stronger when this is over. Please contact me if you have any questions. Stay healthy. In response to COVID-19, the Governments of Australia are meeting on a regular basis as a National Cabinet and implementing measures to combat the spread of the virus. In the measures announced by the Prime ...Minister on 24 March 2020, which will take effect from 11.59 Wednesday 25 March, the solemnisation of a marriage is to occur with a maximum attendance of no more than five people, being the two parties, the authorised marriage celebrant, and the two witnesses. Social distancing of 1 person per 4 square metres is to be enforced. This applies to marriages both indoors and outdoors. We have been receiving a range of enquiries regarding whether requirements in the Marriage Act 1961 will be relaxed during this time. For example, whether a marriage can be solemnised remotely eg via Skype. The answer is no. All marriages still need to be solemnised in accordance with the Marriage Act, without exception. A marriage must be solemnised in the physical presence of an authorised celebrant and two witnesses. Shortening of time requests need to be directed to prescribed authorities the list is available here. Circumstances for authorising marriages despite late notice are set out in Schedule 3 of the Marriage Regulations 2017. See more

03.01.2022 A lovely elopement today at Hay Point under COVID restrictions! Chris and Amy thought it would be hard to choose a wedding date later in the year so decided to become Husband and Wife sooner. Lovely ceremony at their home with big celebrations to come later when they are able to have all their friends join them and wish them well. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Wilke and thank you for inviting me to stay and have those beautiful prawns and champagne with you.

01.01.2022 The love story of Val and Dorne started in a walking group who walk around a shopping centre in Mackay. After many walks and coffees their love took them to Blue Water Quay today and in front of their family they became Mr & Mrs Val and Dorne Hazeldene. A few words from a reading they chose - "Two hearts beat as one". Congratulations to you both, such a lovely couple.
