Believe he was a very good footballer at Yarraville & Mordialloc and at one time was offered to the opportunity to play for the Collingwood Football Club https://www.belindajanevideo.com/client-/william-fairfull/

16.01.2022 Please find enclosed a photo of a Collingwood CC Membership Badge from the year 1921-22. On the reverse of the Medallion is Member Number 112. The badge is in just average condition, although it is still legible to the naked eye, and the photo probably does not do it justice. The Medallion has been in my possession for approximately 50 years. I don't suppose your records would go back far enough to know who Member 112 was in 1921-22 ??? Kind regards Brian Jones

14.01.2022 Took this on the weekend while at Camberwell Magpies Cricket Club Some great names of the era of district Cricket Victoria

14.01.2022 Condolences to the Fisher family on the passing of Collingwood Cricket Club Life Member Kenneth Patrick Fisher 13/11/31 - 12/04/20 "Kenny" has he is fondly remembered played 90 first XI games for the Collingwood Cricket Club over 16 seasons between 1952/53 - 1967/68 #227 He played at all levels of the club including the 3rd XI premiership in 1955/56 and a photo below shows a 238 run partnership with Ken 137no with another life member Peter Dymond 106no.... He was made a Life Member in 1967 but served the club for another 20+ years in his role as Net captain, a firm but a fair fellow who didn't suffer idiots said, one former teammate! Many past champions of the club have mentioned him being a lovely fellow who gave a lot of his time to the club, around 45 years! and was sort after to continue in his role as net captain by many coaches after retiring from playing. His Son Greg who unfortunately is unable to get back from Singapore told me this evening that Ken wasn't known for hanging around long at the crease without having an impact, maybe he was born 50 years too early! In researching, we found out that he made his debut against Northcote and was bowled by his younger brother! Greg also played lower grade at the club and was always proud of the Fisher names history with the great Collingwood Cricket Club.

08.01.2022 Collingwood all-rounder Ronald "Ron" Bird created history by becoming the inaugural @CricketVictoria Ryder Medallist in 1972/73. Bird was a handy left-hand bat and orthodox left-arm spinner over 18 seasons, taking over as skipper when Keith Stackpole left the club to captain/coach the Blues after the 1973/74 season. Bird played in 4 VCA Finals, playing in the Magpies' 1970/71 and 1974/75 premiership teams. In his Ryder Medal win, Bird (31 votes) won narrowly from Bob Cowpe...r and Ken Eastwood (each 30).
