19.01.2022 Our friends at the Moonee Valley libraries are hosting a Zoom evening with local author and broadcaster Jacinta Parsons. Jacinta will be discussing her bestselling memoir 'Unseen', Tuesday the 23 of February, at 7 pm. Reserve your ticket today @mooneevalleylibraries Until the 24 of February, 'Unseen' will be at the special price of $26. We love to support a Melbourne author and our terrific local libraries. 'Jacinta Parsons was in her twenties when she first began to f...eel unwell the kind of unwell that didn’t go away. Eventually she got a diagnosis: Crohn’s disease. But knowing this wouldn’t stop her life from spiralling into a big mess of doctors, hospitals and medical disasters. What’s most extraordinary about Jacinta’s story is how common it is. Nearly half of Australians live with a chronic illness, but most of these conditions are not obvious, often endured in secrecy and little understood. They are unseen.' See more

06.01.2022 We were so excited to meet local author Ainslee Costa today. Our first author visit since the restrictions lifted. Her book 'My Suburban Farm' is the story of turning her backyard into a sustainable, chicken-filled, creative slice of the country in inner city Melbourne. We have signed copies of her beautiful book in store while stocks last.

05.01.2022 Staff Pick - Kat recommends Latitudes of Longing by Shubhangi Swarup ‘One of the best reads if 2020 for me. A sweeping, beautifully written novel in four parts. These loosley connected characters are pulled together through their relationship with the land from a botanist in the Andaman Islands of newly independent 1950s India where colonial ghosts spill out of the land, to the no-mans-land of shifting Himalayan glaciers and likewise changing territories that disrupt the home of the Yeti. Swarup has written a luscious, meditative book on and along the fault lines of the Himalayas. The earth, and its moving plates, are as much a character as any other, and they are all characters you’ll be sorry to leave. On finishing the last page, i wanted to flip immediately to the first and start again.'
