Linda is dedicating and providing financial support from each book sold to Sue Johns and Lou Edgar who run the Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter. ‘Mallacoota’s Burning’ is a picture story book suitable for 5-10 year old children, or a souvenir for tourists to the beautiful Gippsland area, as it... describes how an out of control fire hit Mallacoota on December 31st, 2019. "As a published children’s author I feel it’s my role to document the events that impact our lives by writing stories. In reading these stories children gain a better understanding of themselves and the world they live in, while reinforcing literacy and the importance it plays in developing positive values." - Linda Stocks. ‘Mallacoota’s Burning’ is based on fact, but mostly fiction. Jade’s on holidays at Mallacoota with her family when they are evacuated to the foreshore. Jade’s puppy, Shubi, escapes in the crowd while, Ryan, a local, awaits his dad’s return from the fire front. Both children find comfort talking about normal things, like school, friends and pizza, as fire rages towards town.
