24.01.2022 This mornings lineup. 180 cubic metres combined capacity ready to move some loads on an 8 km cart.
24.01.2022 Anybody looking for a nice 870? It's a bit sad but it's time to part company.
22.01.2022 Holly is loving it today. Had a big dump of rain here on Friday meaning conditions are now ideal. One pass ripping, power harrowing and planting at 9 ks, doesnt get much better. Well, listening to Triple J sucks as everything else is just static.
21.01.2022 Been a while, eh? Have you driven past the shed, seen this and wondered what on earth Im up to now? All will be revealed hopefully before too long.
21.01.2022 They dont make shear bars like they used to. Thats only three weeks work. All finished now, just need to give her a tickle with the sharpener, set the shearbar, close her up and were good to go again.

19.01.2022 Are there any people out there looking for a bit of work? Now would be a good time to let me know as we will be starting silage in the next ten days or so.

15.01.2022 Look what I found sitting at the docks. I thought it would look good beside the harvester, so I took it.
15.01.2022 What do you do when you run out of reach?
15.01.2022 You make something that does.
13.01.2022 Had the New Holland service technician on the job today. Gotta start em young!
13.01.2022 Same stretch of road, opposite direction. This is at Bolinda with the Macedon ranges up ahead.
12.01.2022 I lost the internet about Shepparton last night. Got home at 9.45, thats 21.5 hours in total since I left home in the morning. I think thats my biggest tractor road trip in a single calender day. Would have been a little over 600 ks when I had to deviate back roads to stay off the freeways.
12.01.2022 Not a nice way to finish the day. Jammed my finger to top it off.
12.01.2022 John Deere 7530 Premium For Sale

11.01.2022 Took some more pictures. I plan to list this on the internet. If it's not sold within 2 weeks it will be going on Iron Planet to be auctioned, so if you're interested, don't wait as it will be sold. Price is $165000.00 including G.S.T.
10.01.2022 4 new bolts, new top plate and a part worn knife to keep it balanced. Just need to open up her belly now and perform minor surgery.
07.01.2022 The new toy earning her keep.
07.01.2022 "Whats all that junk doing on there?", you may ask. Thats what Id like to know. Most people think silage contractors have it easy, sitting in their seat all day while counting dollars. Heres the reality of it. Metal detector goes off. Get out, climb down the steps to try to find the 10mm bit of wire thats hiding in the grass. After sorting through it and finding nothing, you climb back up into the cab, reset the metal detector and go again. Straight away it goes off ag...ain, then back down to find the wire which is still hiding. After this, you leave a pile because youre frustrated, only to have the rake man re-rake the pile into another row to cause more grief later. Mutiply this by 50 to 60 times in one day and no, that is not an exaggeration as today was one of those days and this is what a silage contractors day can be like, not to mention gettng shaken to bits over rough ground. So, if you are a farmer who wonders why your contractor didnt get to your job when he hoped he would, make sure your job is not holding him up from getting to the next customer after you. Also, if they do a good job, tell them and thank them. See more
06.01.2022 Im blue da da dee da da da......Ive been converted. No more green or yellow although you might see a bit of red getting about.
05.01.2022 Going to bed, ready for a big road trip tomorrow with Holly.
05.01.2022 Just finished the last of the hydraulic lines, had to tee into the pressure and return lines. How do you do that with a full tank of oil? With a vacuum cleaner of course.
05.01.2022 For Sale John Deere 466 Silage special $11000.00 inc GST This has the megatooth tines but it is a twine only baler.

04.01.2022 Is anybody else planting this maize seed? If so, do a seed count check. 11.39 ha @ 90,000 seeds/ha used 16 bags. Thats 1025100 seeds divided by 16 bags which equals 64068 seeds per bag. Yes this is approximate, but the difference is 8 -10,000 seeds per bag. The blue seed is Pacific and the red is the Corson, both should be a minimum of 72,000 seeds per bag and both hoppers have a bag each in them. Seed size is likely the culprit here. Will be interesting to see how far the Pacific goes. Rain has cleared, so I can get into it again.
04.01.2022 You should always have a first aid kit handy, you never know when you might need it......... like when you lose an axle cap and the only tape you can find to tape on your new makeshift cap is in your first aid box.
02.01.2022 Is anybody looking for work? Mowers should be out working later in the week and still need another driver for carting early next week.
