01.01.2022 On Friday, as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations, Stockland Forster officially gifted Women Weave Colour in a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Cr Troy Fowler. ... A collaboration between local artists Donna Rankin, Lara Went, Nicole Bramble and Byron Bay local Shannon Crees, the 83-metre-long mural is located behind Hungry Jacks, The Lakes Way Forster. Described as, a vibrant tapestry of colour the mural incorporates a nod to the local Worimi community and represents the iconic beauty, people, places and history found in our local area. Lara Went, local contemporary indigenous artist performed Welcome to Country and officially cut the ribbon at the ceremony.
