23.01.2022 Come work for us!

23.01.2022 Colorectal Surgery is being vigilant in decreasing the spread of COVID-19 and supporting the health of our community. We are contacting all patients before they come to appointments to check they are in good health, do not have any flu like symptoms, have not been in contact with anyone infected, and have not traveled overseas in the last 14 days. We have separated our chairs in our waiting areas to promote social distancing. We are offering phone appointments in pla...ce of face to face appointments in appropriate cases. We disinfect our surfaces numerous times a day and hand sanitiser gel is available for all patients and staff. Our staff have strict hand hygiene and are sitting further away from other staff members. Some staff are working remotely at home or in other offices to promote social distancing. Please call our office if you have any questions, we look forward to seeing the end of COVID-19 and supporting each other during this time.

18.01.2022 Three of Adelaide Zoo's gorgeous Mandrills have had a visit with the vet! Females Mayombe, Moabi and Niari were given a general health check, where our team e...xamined their physical health, took X-rays of their chest, abdomen and skeleton and blood samples to get a better picture of their internal body function. Apart from some ongoing dental issues, the girls were found to be in good health and were quickly returned to the troop, reuniting with Alpha male Tabah and two-year-old Jumoke. Well known for their colourful appearance, Mandrills are native to the tropical rainforest and forest savannahs of southern Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Congo. Sadly, in their natural habitat our troop's wild cousins face deforestation, hunting and poaching for meat and pelts. Listed as vulnerable to extinction by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, the Mandrill population has declined rapidly over the last 30-years due to these threats. We're proud to be one of only two zoos in Australia to house Mandrills. When we reopen to the public, we'd love for you to say hi to our Mandrill group and learn more about their fascinating species. Thanks to exhibit sponsors Colorectal Surgery for helping to keep our Mandrill troop happy and healthy. Read more about the check here. https://www.adelaidezoo.com.au/health-check-time-for-adela/
