23.01.2022 Our Colo River Hideaway property was featured on Sydney Weekender yesterday. You can watch the show on 7Plus. It is Season 25: Episode 7

23.01.2022 Several of our guests have been to the Cooks Co-op. One couple stayed at our place and had their wedding there. It's only a 15 minute drive from the Colo River Hideaway. https://www.youtube.com/embed/FGAV7T_WXMY

22.01.2022 There are a lot of things in life that we do without really knowing if we've got it right. Being a host on AirBnB isn't one of them. It's really nice that people take the time to give feedback. Here are the two latest reviews: This is such a special place. Incredible native birds, lovely bush views and overall a haven of peace and tranquility in absolute comfort. Kayaking on the Colo river is gorgeous and just a short walk from the house with everything you need provided. We... loved this hideaway and would love to return. Dianne was an exceptional host. Thank you! Colo River Hideaway is a must stay if you're in the region. Dianne and Chris are fantastic hosts that provide a well above average level of service. From nice touches like some bacon, eggs, milk, juice, bread and butter in the fridge (very welcome when turning up later on a Friday afternoon) to the well thought out bushwalking guide, canoe's & kayaks there is nothing not to like. I'd also like to give massive thanks to our host Chris, we discovered the gas bottles had run out Friday night (too late to have them refilled) however Chris was around early Saturday morning to have the tanks filled in time for breakfast. Exceptional service.

19.01.2022 I am feeling refreshed after taking a break from hosting during February and March. I have enjoyed having guests again during April so I’ve opened the AirBnB calendar for bookings up until November. I look forward to welcoming everyone who comes to stay.

18.01.2022 The Colo Hideaway is a perfect family holiday you can have while social distancing. You won't get Coronavirus from the kangaroos or while kayaking the Colo. The house is appropriately cleaned between visits. If you are not sure how long Covid-19 lasts on a hard surface watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifazauFn1wY&t=0s

18.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has shown concern for our place at the Colo. We’ve been keeping an eye on the fires in the area and we are safe. The nearest fire is about 5km away on the other side of the river. We have guests there this weekend who reported enjoying being out on the deck and in the pool yesterday so any smoke in the air can’t be too bad. This photo is from the fires near me app. Our property is where the little blue binoculars are and the blue circle shows a 15km radius around our place.

17.01.2022 We have a rare opportunity this coming weekend. Our place is not booked! The first person the pm me will have the opportunity to stay Friday and Saturday nights with check out at your leisure on Sunday for a flat fee of $700 for up to 8 people.

17.01.2022 The lady who booked for this weekend is surprising her partner for his 30th birthday. He wants to go fishing. There's bait in the fridge and when they walk in he will see this.

17.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all from the Colo River Hideaway.Merry Christmas to all from the Colo River Hideaway.

16.01.2022 Di and Chris spent the afternoon preparing for the fire which is getting very close. By the time we left we could hear and see the fire on the other side of the river about 300m away.

14.01.2022 A lovely note from last weekend's guests. I was still at the house when they arrived on Friday and one of them commented on my note that I left for them saying I had beautiful handwriting. I now know that was very high praise. Look at this handwriting!

09.01.2022 The whole house has been painted inside and out. Fresh new colours and a light airy feel. I hope you like it.

06.01.2022 An adorable thank you message from the three children who stayed this week. Ages 10, 8 and 5.

04.01.2022 The fire is right across the river. Wish us luck. The next 48 hours will tell. Hopefully everything will be all right. We have the river, the paddock, the road and driveway all as natural fire breaks but none of that will matter if the wind gets up.

04.01.2022 Tomorrow, The Colo River Hideaway is going to be on television on Sydney Weekender!! They are showing it on Sunday, 28th June at 5.30pm on the Seven Network in Sydney, and across N.S.W. & the A.C.T. on the PRIME Network. It’s repeated a week later on 7TWO. It was filmed in November 2018 and first aired in 2019.... Be sure to watch until the end as Mike Whitney closes the show in one of our canoes out on the river. https://www.facebook.com/103659786339744/photos/2139466132759089/

04.01.2022 A lovely thank you note from last weekend's guests, a French family.

02.01.2022 I have just been to the house to check the fire situation. Fortunately, the fire on the other side of the river, opposite us, has gone out. There are still active fire fronts on the other side of the river about 600m upstream and also 1km downstream. Conditions are very benign at the moment and if it stays that way there is little chance of the fire jumping the river. The forecasts over the next few days are for NE winds which will blow embers towards us, but the winds are not forecasted to be very strong so we may have dodged a bullet. The RFS is patrolling our side of the river regularly looking for spot fires. Thanks RFS.

01.01.2022 I did a complete clean out and water change of the spa and pool last month. It's pristine.

01.01.2022 You can feel the love in this one. My Colo River Hideaway experience was exceptional. Far beyond what my friends and I had expected. From the moment I made contact with Dianne (our host), I knew the house belonged to someone who was genuinely cared about the quality of your stay. Her replies were always quick, informative and friendly. My friends and I set off from Sydney on a Friday afternoon and just over an hour and a half later (with slight traffic) we were driving into... Dianne's property. My first thought was "the photos don't do it justice." The property and its location were so gorgeous it was hard to believe that we'd driven such a short distance from Sydney's bustling inner suburbs. The private location of the house is breathtaking. It sits peacefully among the treetops, with the valley either side and the river flowing below it (a short walk across the paddock to a private jetty). As soon as we arrived, it was easy to appreciate how much effort Dianne had gone to to ensure the house was set up for our comfort. Firstly, it was spotless. The deck, the pool, the jacuzzi, the spacious kitchen, the comfortable beds, the linen, the towels, the couches, everything was plentiful, easy to access and cleaned professionally. They'd thought of everything! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, my friends and I felt comfortable and at ease. There were so many relaxing options.. swimming in the pool/jacuzzi, sitting on the large wooden deck, bushwalking, swimming/canoeing in the river or just kicking back inside under the air con and appreciating the native surrounds the Colo River offers. I don't often give reviews but this property deserves it. Thanks Dianne. See you next year! Jackson. See more
