25.01.2022 Dessert Alert Rather than buying ice cream in a shop you can actually create your own frozen yoghurt. Its not icecream of course but similar. Definitely satisfies and is super delicious And it is super easy to make! Simply blend frozen fruit and high protein yoghurt in a food processor. Done and ready to eat . If you have kids - they will love it too!... I use raspberries as my frozen fruit (its high in antioxidants) but you can also use frozen banana or mango (both higher in carbs though). Whatever you like really. In the picture I used approximately 200g high protein yoghurt and about 150g raspberries. Giving you a macro split of about 19g carbs, 1g fat, 21g protein. I did not add any sweetener. If you like it sweeter you could add frozen banana or even a little bit of honey. My new favourite! So delicious!

23.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS Huge congratulations to our Gladiator members Dan, Jono, Mark and Rachel for giving their all at the Frantic Day Out 2020 on the weekend. You guys amazed us with your dedication and determination, pushing your limits on every WOD, it was truly inspirational to watch. That determination and hard work paid off for both Mark and Dan who absolutely dominated their divions and took home the win, what an epic finish! ... 23.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT Following the announcement last night by our Premier, we are able to reopen with a couple of guidelines and restrictions to follow until Sunday the 14th Feb These restrictions being:... - 1 x person per 4 square meters - Masks will be mandatory as we are exercising indoors We will be open for classes on Saturday with the following guidelines Masks will be mandatory (except anyone with a lawful medical exemption) as will scanning in with the SAFEWA app or signing in using the manual register. 21.01.2022 Plank Challenge Happy Sunday Crew. Today were launching a weekly challenge. Challenge if you choose to accept it;... You must hold a plank for a total of 10 mins. Every time you break you must complete 3 x burpees, 3 x sit ups, 3 x air squats 3 x push ups. So for example: If you break after 3 mins you must do the penalty and then start again from 3 mins. If break again at 5 mins you must do penalty again and then restart at 5 mins etc. until you have planked for 10 mins in total. Your score is number of reps at the end of 10 mins...with a lower score the better. Happy Planking

A HUGE shoutout to all those who have helped Lis and I get the new premises ready for Jan 4th. ... Chrissoula, has been working in the fitness industry for 4 years and specialises in strength & conditioning and weight loss/ toning. Chrissoula has been developing her expertise over the last 4 years having studied with the Australian strength coach Sebastian Oreb and Andrew lock strength. She has completed a nutrition course for Gen pop with Clean health and fitness institute and is now ...developing her skills, currently studying The Essentials of sport and exercise nutrition with Precision Nutrition. Chrissoula has completed Boxing and Kettlebell courses as well as spending a fair amount of time doing Muay Thai here and in Thailand. Chrissoula is passionate about teaching others the benefits of strength training and changing their body through correct nutrition/ sleep and recovery. I love seeing people get strong and gain confidence. The reason our coach is so passionate about fitness is the effect its had on her own mental and physical health after spending more than 20 years living a very unhealthy and self-destructive life. 07.01.2022 The Overhead Press is a full body, compound exercise. Your shoulders and arms press the weight over your head while your legs, lower back and abs balance you. Heres how to Overhead Press with proper form 1. Stand with the bar on your front shoulders, and your hands next to your shoulders... 2. Press the bar over your head, until its balanced over your shoulders and mid-foot 3. Lock your elbows at the top, and shrug your shoulders to the ceiling. Hold the bar for a second at the top. Then lower it back to your front shoulders and repeat. Dont use your legs, keep them straight. The Overhead Press is one of the best exercises to build strong, muscular and healthy shoulders with bigger arms.

02.01.2022 5 Training Tips to Improve your Snatch Technique "The Snatch is a combination of strength, flexibility, power and technique" 1. Start Right, End Right - When you set up, check your feet, knees, hips and shoulders.... 2. Problem? Reverse the Chain - Working backwards from the snatch is the ideal problem solver. If you have a problem with your catch position, overhead squats and snatch balance are going to be your friends. For 90% of beginners it is the second pull (from the knee into the extension). Dip snatch and hang snatch above knee will be your next port of call. 3. You are as Weak as your Weakest Point - Making your weaknesses your strengths is essential. 4. Pulls, Pulls, Pulls and do them Correctly! - Essential for technique and strength, without these, you cannot get enough mileage on the correct positions for it to carry over into your snatch! Pulls that emphasise control, with a shrug with the shoulders and up onto the toes. Just snatching to improve your snatch is like learning to drive a car under race conditions, you really need some quiet time to work just on control and movement patterns. 5. Snatch Technique is Nothing Without Strength - The old Russian weightlifting research show that the snatch on average is about 60% of your maximum back squat.
