17.01.2022 A CALL FOR HELP KIDNEY FAILURE PATIENT IN NEED OF TRANSPLANT Two week ago we were called upon by a desperate family whose 16 year old son had suffered sudden ki...dney failure. Naresh Shahi is a student at the school for underprivileged children we have been supporting since 2014. He is described as one of their top 10 class students, very disciplined and never complains. He even sat his final exams whilst going through dialysis. On Tuesday Suresh and I arranged to meet Naresh's father at his school. Naresh comes from a family of four. They reside in a one bedroom rented flat without furniture. His father and elder brother are the bread winners and bring in a combined salary of AU$350 per month but this amount has reduced dramatically since Naresh became ill as they have had to accompany him on the bus to take him to hospital for dialysis and check ups. They do not own a vehicle. They have already spent around AU$3000 of their limited income on treatments for Naresh who continues to require dialysis twice a week to stay alive. Their funds are running low and they do not know what to do. We have been informed that transplant itself will cost around AU$10000 which is not an option for them at this point. We are hoping to at least raise enough money for Naresh to continue his dialysis treatment. Naresh's family are very worried about losing their son. Please help us to help Naresh's family. We will be accepting donations on their behalf to our PayPal account [email protected] (please use the friends and family option so we do not have to pay fees from your donation). We will document all donations and post updates on funds raised and the amount that will be handed over to Naresh's father. Nepal does not have a government health system. If you are sick and poor you die. Let's not let this beautiful young man end his life so soon. See more

15.01.2022 Hi everyone. We regret to inform you all that we recently lost 2 of our monthly sponsors who have been contributing to our monthly food bill for the 6 children... in our care. We budget our food bill at $1 per meal, 4 meals per day. With six children that amounts to AU$672 per month. We currently receive a total of AU$425 per month in monthly sponsorships. On top of food we have school fees, books, stationary, clothing, shoes, toiletries and medical costs to consider. Would you like to become a monthly contributor to Smith Rajak House and help secure a brighter future for these 6 children from impoverished families. Our monthly sponsors give between AU$10 -$50 per month as their choice. We were hoping to bring another child to our home this year but with the loss of these sponsors it will not be possible at this time. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a monthly contributor to our cause helping those less fortunate than ourselves. See more
