19.01.2022 RETURN TO TRAINING 2020 Hey all, Over the past few weeks, we have spoken in meeting after meeting about the future of our club and the remainder of the 2020 season. There were many doubts within our club as to whether the season would continue or not. ... We are however, happy to welcome the Return to Training guidelines set out by FV, and very happy to announce that we are scheduled to get back on track this week, with our Seniors beginning on Thursday, the 28th of May at 6:30pm, and our Juniors beginning within the next fortnight. Although we are able to resume training, we have some rules that we all have to follow. Training for Juniors and Seniors will go as follows: You MUST NOT attend training if you have had any cold or flu-like symptoms within the last 14 days, if you have been around/made contact with a known case of COVID-19, or are a high risk. A register must be filled out upon arrival, stating your; - Full name - FFA number - Date and time of attendance - Confirmation that you have downloaded the COVIDSafe App for purposes of contact tracing (It is strongly encouraged that all participants at any training sessions have downloaded this app). This will be conducted by a coach, team manager or club official to ensure all details are obtained. Signage will be up around the club stating that; - There will only be one point of entry and one point of exit to the main field. - Players must not arrive to training more than 10 minutes prior, and must leave immediately after training concludes. No loitering will be permitted. There must be no more than10 people (excluding coach), in a 45mx45m area at once, whilst maintaining a consistent 1.5m distance between each person. Groups must remain constant, with no mixing of groups at any time. Any parents/guardians within this area will be asked to move away to an appropriate distance, unless they are coaching/instructing the session. There will be no sharing of drink bottles, clothing or equipment. This includes bibs that will be allocated, that must be taken home and washed individually. Training will be paused in 30 minute intervals in order to clean and sanitise used equipment and surfaces to maintain cleanliness. Hand sanitiser will be provided that must be used by all participants. There is to be no physical contact. eg. tackling, handshakes, high-fives or anything similar, and there is to be no unnecessary contact on the ball/equipment, eg. Throw ins, headers or handling cones. These guidelines are subject to change as the situation evolves. There may be an update to these conditions within the next fortnight, but until then, we hope everyone can follow these simple rules to keep our players, club members and our community safe. 14.01.2022 With the new cases being brought to light overnight, the Premier has put out a new statement. As of Sunday the 2nd, masks will be mandatory across regional VIC when you leave home. There has been no official update from BASL yet, so we are unsure if this new regulation will affect the remainder of our Junior season, but as soon as we get any information, we will make sure it gets to all parents and players. 13.01.2022 - COVID-19 Update - Football Victoria welcomes the easing off of Phase 3 restrictions taking place tonight at 11:59pm. Although restrictions are slowly being removed, it may be another month or two until we can hold a training session for Juniors and Seniors. ... 08.01.2022 UPDATE - COVID-19 Bendigo Amateur Soccer League (BASL) today advises that after considered discussion with its 15 member clubs, local Referees Association and a...ssessment of current Football Federations Australia (FFA) direction, that the 2020 competition will commence no sooner than the weekend of 16 and 17 May. This decision comes following FFA’s announcement yesterday to suspend all sanctioned grassroots football competitions and associated training until 14 April. The BASL decision was made with the understanding that clubs and administrators will require a period after the recommencement of football activities to prepare for the season. BASL will continue to be guided by FFA, who are consulting with the Federal Government and its National COVID-19 Working Committee and will advise of updates as they come to hand. Whilst delaying the competition is regrettable, as a responsible community organisation we acknowledge we have a role to play in limiting the spread of the virus both due to the sizeable region our competition takes part in and the over 3000 players, coaches, officials, and their families we support. I would like to acknowledge the collaboration, expediency and commitment of our Member Clubs, Referees Association, BASL Committee and Operations Department, to arrive at the decision at such short notice. 04.01.2022 Unfortunately for the next four weeks, our training sessions and matches will be postponed to help stop our players/supporters & sporting community combat the spread of the Coronavirus until the 14th of April. We understand that this doesn't affect juniors, as they (hopefully) begin their season on the 18th of April, but it does affect the Senior draw. BASL are having an emergency meeting tonight to work out how the season will happen, and from there, we will have a meeting... tomorrow night to get an idea of the best way to go forward for our players and club community. 01.01.2022 To all our Senior players, Supporters and broader Colts community, It is with a heavy heart that I wish to inform you that our 2020 Senior soccer season has tonight been cancelled at the BASL league meeting. With the uncertainty of when contact training is able to commence again and when our season may actually be allowed to get underway due to the second wave of Covid 19, the unfortunate decision was made to cancel season 2020 and start to focus on season 2021. We as a commi...ttee are very disappointed that we are unable to get a season up and going this year, as I know many of you will all be as well. As a club though we also understand that the health and safety of all players, supporters and volunteers involved with our game has to be our main priority in these uncertain times. I would like to take this opportunity though to thank all our senior players and coaching team that have attended training throughout these difficult times and have continued to keep a positive attitude. The last few weeks of senior training have been fantastic and exactly the direction myself and our dedicated committee have seen the club going and I hope this will continue into season 2021. I also highly encourage everyone to get behind our future senior players of Strathfieldsaye Colts United and attend and support our competitive and non-competitive juniors in the following weeks while their season continues on.
