25.01.2022 Hi, I know it’s been quite a while since I have written anything, but what had prompted me to write about this was my clients. Ever since this COVID 19 saga, closure of gyms, Bootcamps or just general group fitness classes, people have been trying to keep active anyway they can from walking, jogging, training at home, even watching others training on YouTube and doing their training. Walking, jogging or even doing your own training session at home would be the best bet becaus...e you would be doing the things you have been taught by a professional fitness instructor, but to watch others on YouTube and copying them is not a good idea. First of all are they a qualified fitness professional most Youtubers are not qualified fitness instructors they are there to boost their profile and make content during this isolation period, so to copy them may result in an injury. You know what to do, how to execute that particular exercise but you are finding it hard to challenge yourself, you have a fear, a fear of you’re not able to do it. The only way to conquer your fear is to believe you can do it, you will be surprised what you can do when you put your mind to it, you need to start believing in yourself. Once you get over your fears you become more confident, you believe in yourself and only then you become unstoppable. So when you’re getting bored of a training session find a way to make it a little harder. If you are jogging add some hills, if you are walking add brisk walking or even a slow jog, if you are doing a particular exercise add some extra repetitions to it or hold the isometric contraction for 10 to 15 secs on your last repetition. These are just a few ways to stimulate your training sessions so don’t be afraid of trying something new by challenging yourself and keep progressing to the next fitness level.



24.01.2022 I’ve got some sad news that I would like to share. This friend that I’ve known for a few years now has had a massive stroke. He has cheated death a few times but unfortunately it doesn’t look like he will survive this one. He is currently on life support and his family have the hardest decision to make, to turn off his life support.... This friend has a family, wife and two kids, he loved to live life but you can only live life if you are willing to take care of your health. He wasn’t very active, you may have seen him walk his dog on weekends but other than that you could say he was sedentary. He loved his alcohol and his cigarettes. He always had a soft drink while having lunch. Sometime last year he suffered a stroke while on holidays, he was on the mend and determined to change his lifestyle by reducing his alcohol, giving up smoking and exercising. So he asked me for my advice on what type of training would be appropriate to becoming healthier. I wanted him to change for the better and I was there for support. When I would see him with a can of soft drink or wanting to add salt to his food I would say NO you came to me for a reason and I’m here to help you. This change of lifestyle only lasted for a month or so and then he went back to his old habits. No matter what I would say he just didn’t want to listen. I say this to everyone, you can’t tell someone to change for the better unless they WANT to change. They need to make that commitment for themselves. I wanted to share this story with you because it may not be too late for you, remember only YOU can make that decision to turn your life around for the better. Sadly he passed away, may he rest in peace.

20.01.2022 I use my Facebook business page to educate the general public on how to train effectively. Making sure that technique isn’t jeopardised and also can be used to increase your intensity. Using heavy weight without correct technique will cause injury. An injured person will have no choice but to stop training. Once you have stopped training you can kiss those goals goodbye but even worse you may start to feel stressed, anxiety and may also lose yourself-esteem.... Other personal trainers use their Facebook business page to promote themselves, their business which is also great. The more you promote the more clientele, once again that is great. As a registered fitness professional with Fitness Australia we work off rules and regulations such as how many clients per instructor and let’s face it YOU as the consumer that pays your money to be instructed, (shown the correct technique) motivated, (challenging yourself for that extra repetition, go that extra 5 or 10 meters further) I would like to know, are you paying and getting your money’s worth from your fitness instructor or are you one of those people that have been convinced to join these group fitness classes at a cheaper rate? There is a personal trainer out there convincing people to join their group fitness classes at a cheaper rate. Now I can understand why you may want to join these so called cheaper group fitness classes because we are always out there looking for a bargain but at what cost. I decided to write about this scam because I was told about it. I had a new client come to me regarding joining my classes, I asked them if they had trained before, they told me that they joined this particular personal trainer offering unlimited group fitness classes for X amount of weeks and for as little as X amount of dollars, instead of them motivating them they spent most of their time on their phone or recording so they can promote their classes. So I took it upon myself to check this personal trainer and see how he/she conducts their classes. After reviewing several video clips this new client of mine was right, this personal trainer that was meant to be conducting, motivating and correcting their client’s techniques, instead he/she spent their time recording, promoting their classes on social media. This is totally wrong by the personal trainer, the client has paid you, come to you for support, motivation and is relying on your expertise so they can achieve their goals and not be neglected. https://www.facebook.com/TheGoNet/videos/1883685268362953/

10.01.2022 Like any goal you are trying to achieve you will come across obstacles. The thing is, how you overcome these obstacles. You could use these obstacles as excuses, throw your hands up in the air and say it’s all too hard and just give up OR you could remain positive, picture who or where you want to be and slowly knock them down one by one. Life is full of obstacles but it’s up to you how you choose to tackle them, THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

10.01.2022 I was told to watch this documentary and that I would be surprised. So I went on Netflix, searched for the documentary, found it, sat down and watch it. To my surprise I was amazed by the results that were found.... When I was studying to become a fitness instructor they told us besides the obvious, by eating right this would help you not only recover but also replenish your energy system which is right. Eat your carbohydrates, (pasta, potatoes, bread, fruit) proteins (chicken, pork, beef, tuna) and your healthy fats (avocado, nuts, salmon) this will keep you healthy, I’m not saying it doesn’t but to what extent. After watching the documentary and seeing the amount of energy these individuals had, the blood samples by all three athletes, (one loves his meat, the second is a vegetarian and the third loves his chicken) and seeing the results of the plasma in the test tubes. I’m not saying what you are doing is wrong but how far are you willing to go to get peak performance also remember these people are professional athletes. 08.01.2022 We all have our own stories but we need to stop using it as an excuse for whatever reason it maybe preventing you from progressing in life. 04.01.2022 NO EXCUSES I have spoken before about goals/dreams, where you are at now and where you would like to be in the future but trying to reach your goals/dreams don’t always go to plan. You may come across an obstacles/obstructions. What are you willing to do to overcome these obstacles/obstructions? How determine are you in achieving your goals/dreams or are you going to use these obstacles/obstructions as excuses?...
