09.01.2022 My salon health journey started about 6 years ago. Pregnancy triggered an autoimmune response to hair colour and products I was using everyday. 07.01.2022 Let’s talk about Protein Masks - AKA Reconstructing or Repair Now I had a client in a few weeks ago and her hair felt terrible! She uses professional hair products at home and we really needed to pinpoint exactly what was going on here. ... Turns out she was using a protein based treatment on her blonde hair, leaving it in over night and washing it out the. next. morning.... gasp!! This can cause irreversible damage as it leads to breakage - straw feeling hair! Why you may ask???? Protein is required to repair compromised, porous hair to strengthen damaged hair. Overloading your hair with protein will make it BRITTLE as hair is keratin. Use your protein treatment as recommended, usually 5-10mins is Moisture will help soften hair, so pick up a moisture based conditioner or treatment to balance that protein out. Professional Haircare has up to 95% active ingredients, that’s huge in comparison to supermarket (usually less than 10% active with lots of buffers.) Please use your products sparingly, and always follow the direction of your stylist or packaging. P.s a Plex based treatment is a completely different treatment to protein and moisture
