23.01.2022 It is with sadness that COMDANCE would like to let you know that Mrs Jill Casey passed away on Friday night. She went peacefully in her sleep at age 90. Much of the growth in the early days of CSTD in Queensland was attributable to the enthusiasm of Mrs Casey who as a teacher, was very influential in the state and in her role as exam organiser. She worked tirelessly for the Society. Mrs Casey was a Life Member of the society, she also held the position of examiner, teacher an...d Queensland organiser. Mrs Casey has been involved in the Society since the late 1940s. Our thoughts are with her family.

Thanks to the amazing dancers who entered, the teachers who encouraged them and the schools that supported us. We hope you had a blast, we sure did! We just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to the members who have given us feedback on the process and products. This has allowed us to improve them for other members in the future. We really appreciate your time, patience and communication.

10.01.2022 Dear Members It is with a heavy heart we mourn the loss of our longest-serving member, Mrs Norma Ryan, who passed away peacefully in the early morning of 26th June, just shy of her 90th birthday. Reunited with her husband Dinny (Leslie, dec) whom she has dearly missed, much-loved mother and mother-in-law of Gary and Jeannie, Nana to Danielle, Rachael and Amy, and Granny to Joseph, Jack, Mason, Joshua and Thomas. ... The CSTD was her life and she loved it. She lived for it. She loved to teach others and firmly believed the day you stop learning is the day you should stop teaching, as dance is ever-evolving. Mrs Ryan was our longest-serving member having started her dance career as a student and progressing to teacher at Madame Firenzis school of dance. She was an esteemed teacher, examiner and Vice President of the Society. She shared with us her wealth of knowledge and through us, she lives on. She will not be forgotten and will always be admired. Our thoughts are with her family and good friends at this sad time. Diane Gepp President.

09.01.2022 Congratulations to all the candidates in Perth today who undertook their Public Performance exams. It was a bit like the old days, for many it was their first stage appearance of the year. 03.01.2022 This is what we do it for folks! Such a wonderful reflection from examiner Diahann Maude. 'Being an Examiner, I always enjoy seeing students excel in their chosen craft as I get to see them at their best, well-rehearsed and polished, however, this week I gained a new appreciation for this job. As I sat watching a group of Gr 4 Tap students in the exam room, I suddenly realized that at that moment, I was extremely privileged to be their only audience.... I realized that due to this crazy world we currently find ourselves in, these students have had no opportunities to perform to anyone other than their teachers. Usually, by this time of year, the majority of students would have had performed at eisteddfods, fetes, local events, school assemblies, etc. So for them, I was their appreciative audience and all the hard work and preparations they had put into their exam was to be enjoyed by only me! What a special and extremely humbling experience! Living the Dream!!
