22.01.2022 And just like that Hotham is white again. After snowfalls over the past 24 hours there is enough snow for Regional Victorians to have some fun up here this wee...kend. Snow play is good and by Saturday morning cross country skiing will be possible through the village. If you make the trek or are passing through, be prepared for very cold temperatures and icy conditions on the roads. You don't have to pay to enter the resort, but you do have to carry diamond-pattern tyre chains between Harrietville and Omeo, and fit them if directed. 02.01.2022 We’ve been off the air for a few days and we apologise along with all visitors and residents, Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board staff were evacuated... from the mountain on January 3 due to the bushfire threat. Fortunately, despite some terrible conditions, a bit of luck and a lot of preparation by our amazing emergency services, RMB staff and locals mean that Hotham and Dinner Plain remain unscathed by the fires. We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the CFA, Forest Fire Managment Victoria our local firefighters and staff, Mount Hotham Skiing Company, the Australian Defence Force, Victoria Police and all those who support them. Their commitment and passion for our beautiful location is appreciated beyond measure. Thanks also to the incredible team at The Genny who stayed to keep the firefighting team fed and refreshed. Summer still has a way to go, so we’ll keep you updated on conditions, but we’re stoked to advise that HOTHAM IS OPEN again, so we hope to see you soon. 02.01.2022 SNOW VILLAGE ASKS REGIONAL VICTORIANS TO VISIT THIS WINTER Dinner Plain has received 3cm of fresh snow overnight. The ski lifts are not spinning at Mt Hotham or... DP but the toboggan run at Dinner Plain is open. Temperatures plummeted to -1.1 degrees overnight.
