24.01.2022 One of our past members Una Gard passed away on 26th June at the age of 86. Una and her husband Alan were great members for many years with Alan as Captain and President, and both very keen bowlers and great social members. After Allans passing Una donated a trophy in 2008 in his memory, and for a long time came to present it until her health failed. Sincere condolences to the Gard family



24.01.2022 Our recent 6 weeks of Community bowls was a great success with over 100 joining in. Huge thanks to Sabrina and Neita, and all those who assisted them. We start again in October, so keep an eye out, and join these fun nights.

24.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN: After our shut down due to the Corona Virus, we are up and running for Wed Scroungers and Friday Social Bowls, with the restriction as laid down - disinfectants and social distancing are strictly adhered to.

21.01.2022 The CB 100 up was played on Sunday 29th Nov, with the same players meeting in the finals. The winners were Ian Ward from Chris O'Donnell - the reverse from last year; and Sabrina Pilkington from Wendy Kirkby, the same as last year. New member Bob Chokijak defeated Les Mouna in the men's plate. Congratulations all.

21.01.2022 NEVER PLAYED BOWLS?? ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE A GO?? Come along to the Lakelands Shopping Centre this Saturday 12th September between 10am and 3pm. Members of the Comet Bay Bowling Club will be there with carpet and bowls. SO COME AND HAVE A GO!!!!

20.01.2022 Scroungers finals was one of the events which had to be delayed due to the corona virus. It was re scheduled for Wed 17th June, but due to a wet and stormy day it was again changed to Friday 19th June. The finals was played by Trevor Cook, Bill Curtis, Owen Davey and Chris O'Donnell. The scores were close, going to the last end. Trevor Cook had a early lead with the other 3 close on 8/9. Trevor finishing on 19 with Bill on 11, Chris on 10, and Owen on 8. Cogratulations all. The prizes were sponsored and presented to the winners on the day by Life Member Gwen Phillps.

19.01.2022 The annual Boxall Trophy Day between Comet Bay and Halls Head Ladies was recently played for the 28th time. Halls Head took home the trophy, which was donated in 1993 by the Captains of Comet Bay in that year, Jim and Dorothy Boxall.

17.01.2022 On Friday 18th September members played for the Alan Gard Trophy which was donated by Alan Gard's family. Alan held the position of Club Captain from 1999 to 2002, and then went on to become President until 2005. Member Robin sponsored the day and gave members some background on the Gard family.



16.01.2022 MEN'S OPEN TRIPLES The club's first Men's Open Triples of the season was held on Wed 16th Sept, with a full field of 28 teams. Thanks to Peter and all members who assisted on the day.

15.01.2022 CBBC CLOSED. On advice from Bowls WA, due to Coronavirus, the club is completely closed, with no further use of the greens, so no more roll ups. The gates are now locked until further notice.

13.01.2022 Great day at our Ladies Open Triples with greens full- 28 teams, a club record. A chilly and damp day, but a great success. A huge thanks to the men who ran the kitchen, bar and desk- cheers.

12.01.2022 Big Congratulations to these 2020 Men's Country Week 4s Champions. Awesome result for the Mandurah bowlers Will Hyatt, Robbie Tiller, Jason O'Brien and Comet Bay's Bob Tiller bringing up back to back titles for team's from the Murray District Bowling League. Well done Bob and team.

10.01.2022 Our Comet Bay Vets Championships was played on Sunday 15th November, with winners Tony Field from Ian Gardner and Robin Fitzgerald from Sylvia Parsons.

10.01.2022 Corona Virus (Covid 19) Following advice received from Bowls Australia, Bowls WA and Murray Districts Bowling League, all bowling events are postponed/cancelled until further notice. The status of the upcoming AGM and Presentation Dinner will be advised later.... The match committee and management committee meetings are also postponed. Those wishing to have a roll up can do so. Further advice will be provided as this issue evolves.

09.01.2022 Members attended our AGM and the Presentation of 2019/20 Trophy's and prize money on Saturday 1st August, delayed because of the Covid Virus. Most stayed after to enjoy a Sausage Sizzle and a few drinks with several joining in a game of bowls.

03.01.2022 The 2020 21 Season was officially opened on Friday 4th September, with a good attendance of members, and Life members Gwen and Robin putting down the first bowl. Winners of the Patrons Trophy were Peter Gunn, Chris O'Donnell and Graeme Powell.
