19.01.2022 Hello Comfort Bear Friends, just received this notification. Sharing to keep you all in the loop can’t wait till it’s safe to be out in the Markets again PORT DOUGLAS MARKETS UPDATE... Market coordinators and Council staff have been working to plan a way forward for reopening the markets as soon as it is safe to do so. We hope to have a date and a plan that we can send out to stallholders by end of next week. Advice from Queensland Health is that Cotters markets can reopen at Stage 3 (10 July). If we open the PD Markets sooner we will need to implement ways to limit people to no more than ten at a time with four square metres per person, and no selling unwrapped food items, sanitising stations etc. We will be working through a reopening plan that addresses these Queensland Government Biosecurity measures in consultation with stall holders to attempt to reopen before July 2020. It is important that we do this with stall holders input so everyone is comfortable with the decisions that are made. All feedback and input is welcome. No stallholder will be penalised if they do not feel safe to hold a stall at the markets before July. Thank you for your patience. As keen as we are to see things back to normal, we are keen not to place stallholders or patrons at risk. All stallholders will be advised as soon as any date and conditions are finalised.
