20.01.2022 Dear Patients, We have just received a directive from SA Health which includes our Podiatry clinic. Here is the part that affects patients attending our clinics from the 1st December: All people (including patients, patient’s family members, healthcare staff, administrative staff, contractors and cleaning staff) are required to wear single use surgical masks when on healthcare sites. *Cloth masks are not sufficient for healthcare settings*... There are exceptions to mask wearing in some situations, such as, certain breathing difficulties, mental health conditions, communication with deaf or hard or hearing community members, people under the age of 12. Smart phone users if you haven’t already done so please download the MySA GOV app as this will also be a requirement that you use to check in at locations. There will be a manual check in for those who do not have smart phones. Please be understanding of our staff enforcing this when you make an appointment and enter our practices. Thank you

19.01.2022 These here.... are THE BEST first shoes for little ones learning to walk. Of course bare feet is best, especially whilst learning to walk and in the first 3 mon...ths. However for those times where they must have footwear on to protect their little feet from the elements... then these are the absolute best!! Completely practical and the best range of colours that will match all outfits. No pesky shoe laces Elasticated plus the added Velcro closure so they arent easy for little finger to get off Podiatrist Endorsed We are busily trying to get our Bobux footwear online now. Have any questions? Hit us up https://bubsnup.com/collections/bobux

18.01.2022 Did you know...... When young toddlers first begin to walk, barefoot or soft soled flexible shoes are best! This allows the child to feel what they touch and can help develop foot muscle strength. Footwear in this group is purely for protection. Protection against the hot pavers, like on a day like today or protection for sharp rocks or prickles. An example of soft and flexible shoes are Attipas, which can currently be found locally at My Little Piece of Sunshine shown below.

17.01.2022 Last Tuesday our Podiatrists had the opportunity to learn about the newest shoes and technology with a professional development night at @theathletesfoot in Elizabeth. Here is our Podiatrist Kate ready to trial her new court shoes from the night. Thanks @theathletesfoot

17.01.2022 How wonderful is this!

16.01.2022 A risk assessment by the SA Health Communicable Disease Control Branch has determined that the Barossa Valley is no longer a region of higher COVID-19 risk. Lo...cal restrictions, contact tracing efforts and enhanced testing put in place to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission in the Barossa Valley were effective in containing the cluster. Going forward, the restrictions in place for the rest of South Australia are the same in the Barossa Valley, including the reopening of schools.

16.01.2022 Welcome to our new Podiatrist Kristy!! Kristy started with the team last week, so you may have already spotted her around the clinic. Outside Podiatry she enjoys netball, water skiing, camping and outdoor activities. Call the clinic to book your appointment with our lovely Kristy

15.01.2022 People of all ages can be affected by COVID-19. But, people with pre-existing medical conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease are more vulnerab...le and should: - Make sure their health is managed and under control so they are as healthy as possible. - Update and follow their health action plans. - Talk to a GP if needed. - Follow the same hygiene measures as the rest of the community and practice social distancing. Its also important for healthy members of the community to protect those who are more vulnerable. Please dont visit places like hospitals or aged care facilities if you are sick (or think you might be sick) or if you have travelled recently. For people who know someone who is more vulnerable, such as an older family member or a friend who may have a chronic condition, call them and see how they are. It is also helpful to make sure they have essentials such as food, toiletries and medications. For more information visit www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/COVID2019

08.01.2022 The soap you use does not have to be antibacterial. Regular soap will protect you if you wash your hands properly. COVID-19, like many other viruses, is he...ld together by a lipid (fatty) membrane. Washing with soap will remove the fat that sits around the virus particles and destroy it. How to wash your hands properly: Use soap and running water wet hands thoroughly and lather with soap (any soap!) rub hands together for 20 seconds as you wash them, creating a good lather pay attention to the backs of hands, wrists, between fingers and under fingernails rinse hands well under running water dry hands with a single use disposable paper towel or a clean towel. *When you cannot access soap and water, or your hands arent visibly soiled, you can use alcohol based sanitiser. 02.01.2022 South Australia will build on its world-leading testing regime for COVID-19 by launching a two-week testing blitz, starting on Thursday 16 April 2020. Any South... Australian who has fever or chills in the absence of an alternative illness, or an unexplained acute respiratory infection including a cough, sore throat or shortness of breath, will be able to be tested for COVID-19 as part of the blitz. While evidence suggests that there is not widespread community transmission, low case numbers in recent days means South Australian COVID-19 clinics have the opportunity and capacity to test a broader section of the community. If you have unexplained cold or flu symptoms that are causing you concern, please visit one of the BHFLHN COVID-19 clinics.
