25.01.2022 It's November! There is not much of the year left and it will be over before we know it. January 2021's books are up for preview. ... DC is having an event through January and February so regular titles have been suspended for their event issues. Marvel is having a Mavel vs. Aliens variant cover month with some very nice artwork available. 21.01.2022 DC has released its advanced Solicitations for March 2021. After the two months of Future State, DC is now into a new ear, that of Infinite Frontier. There are several new series getting released. Joker, Harley Quinn, Swamp Thing. Superman Red and Blue (Similar to Batman Black and White), Batman Urban Legend, and Sensational Wonder Woman. It looks like it could be interesting.

17.01.2022 DC has dropped an advanced look into their books for February 2021. Future State is still going but some new Mini-Series, one-shots, and YR graphic novels are available this month. Plus, the return to some classic DC stories in Trade Paperbacks and Hardcovers.

16.01.2022 A month of Halloween Day 28 - Franchise 3 Phantasm (1979) The residents of a small town have begun dying under strange circumstances, leading young Mike to investigate. After discovering that the town's mortician, is killing and reanimating the dead as misshapen zombies.... BOY! Phantasm II (1988) Years after his encounter with the Tall Man, Mike still has nightmares about the evil mortician. Mike and his friend Reggie set out to track down the Tall Man and end his murderous and macabre practices. Reggie Rocks Phantasm 3 Lord of The Dead (1994) The Tall Man has infiltrated the minds of Mike and Reggie. They embark on a journey to find and kill him, only to discover that he has destroyed town after town, leaving zombies in place of the living. Phantasm IV Oblivion (1998) Mike flees from the Tall Man who wants to enslave him as an undead servant. Along the way, he investigates the origins of his enemy. Elsewhere, Reggie searches for Mike in a variety of dimensions. Phantasm V Ravager (2016) Reggie, Mike, and Jody continue their quest to stop the evil schemes of The Tall Man and his armada of killer Sentinel Spheres. All good things come to an end. RIP Angus Scrimm. I was late to the Phantasm party. 3 years ago I was a part of a horror live stream on Mike Anger's channel and everyone recommended the series to me with a level of passion that I did not expect. So that Halloween I watched all 5 movies. I was hooked. I did not know why I ignored the series for so long. I remember the video jackets back in the day and they did interest me but I rented other movies instead. It was my loss. I have been doing the Halloween month for 3 years now and this year has been my most organised. But Phantasm Day is a lock each year. The adventures of Mike, Reggie, and Jody as they try and stop the Tall Man and his Spheres is a day I look forward to each year. Thanks to Angus Scrimm, Reggie Bannister, A. Michael Baldwin, and of course the creator and director, Don Coscarelli. I may have been late, but I got there in the end and this franchise is now one of my favourites.

Pure Mel Brooks gold. "Putting on the Ritz!" Bubba Ho-Tep (2002) Elvis Presley and "JFK" live in a nursing home where nothing happens - until a wayward Egyptian mummy comes and sucks out the old people's souls thru their a-holes. The two decide to fight back. Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010) Two scruffy pals' backwoods vacation takes a bloody turn when ignorant college students mistake them for a pair of murderous hillbillies. Brilliant reverse horror movie. What We Do in the Shadows (2014) 4 vampires find that modern life has them struggling with the mundane - like paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs, and overcoming flatmate conflicts.

12.01.2022 A month of Halloween Day 30 The penultimate day for my month of Halloween is here. It has been a ride and very organised but only 2 more days to go. After many days of various sub-genres of horror, I am bringing it all to a head with John Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy. The Thing (1982) ... A group of American research scientists in Antarctica is disturbed by a helicopter shooting at a dog. When they take in the dog, it brutally attacks both human beings and canines in the camp and they discover that the beast can assume the shape of its victims. Prince of Darkness (1987) In a church cellar, a priest finds an otherworldly vial filled with slime. Frightened, he brings his discovery to a circle of top scholars and scientists, who learn that the strange liquid is the essence of Satan. Very underrated movie. In the Mouth of Madness (1994) When horror novelist Sutter Cane goes missing, insurance investigator John Trent scrutinizes the claim made by his publisher, Jackson Harglow, and endeavors to retrieve a yet-to-be-released manuscript and ascertain the writer's whereabouts. Do you read Sutter Cane? Three different styles of movies, all excellent.

12.01.2022 Yesterday the world lost a true icon, Sir Sean Connery. To many, he was the best James Bond but his career was so much more beyond 007. 08.01.2022 Marvel's advance solicitations for comics arriving in March 2021. Some interesting reveals as Marvel begins their tenure of the Alien franchise and reprints the first of Dark Horse's Predator comics in omnibus form.

Gabriel doesn't need wings to fly when he's Walken. The Prophecy II (1998) Gabriel rises from hell to declare war on God and humanity. To win the spiritual war, Gabriel has to kill Los Angeles nurse Valerie Rosales and, more importantly, her unborn half-angel baby. Drive? He's Walken The Prophecy 3 The Ascent (2000) Danyael is the only man who stands in the way of Pyriel, Angel of Genocide, and the destruction of mankind. He is guarded by the Arch-Angel, Gabriel. Only Gabriel will be Walken this one off. Constantine (2005) Detective Angela approaches Constantine, an exorcist, to help her investigate her twin sister's death. As he digs deeper, he realises a dark conspiracy that could threaten the world. The Crow (1994) Eric Draven, a young poet, and a guitarist is resurrected back to life by a crow. The crow guides Eric to his killers and he decides to give his killers a taste of their own medicine. Justified Vengeance. The Prophecy Trilogy, Constantine, The Crow. Maybe today's horror subgenre should have been Angels.
