20.01.2022 Youre entitled to be paid for all the time you work. This means if youre required to come in 10 minutes early or stay back late to count the till or clean, it... should be paid time. And you shouldnt be asked not to clock on yet if youre working or to clock off early so you arent paid. So if youve been finding your pay packet is always a bit light because your boss rounds down your hours to the nearest 15 or 30 minutes or asks you to work off the clock, know this isnt ok. 19.01.2022 Theres no blanket rule on how many hours is too many for an unpaid trial. But that doesnt mean employers can ask you to work as many hours as they feel like f...or free. Unpaid trials can only be used to see if youve got the skills required to do the job. Thats means unpaid trials may be unlawful if: a trial isn't necessary to demonstrate the skills required for the job the trial goes for longer than is actually needed it involves more than a demonstration of the persons skills the person is not under direct supervision for the trial. Any period beyond whats required to demonstrate the skills required for the job must be paid at the relevant minimum pay rate. So, say for example youre a barista with several years of experience. Youve been asked to do a full-day trial shift for a new role. During the trial, youre asked to make a wide range of coffees, but youre also required to take orders, work the register, pack and unpack the dishwasher, and mop and clean. And no one is supervising you as you work theyre too busy. Wed have serious questions for that business, and its likely youd be entitled to pay. Find out more about when unpaid trials are ok, and when theyre not: https://www.fairwork.gov.au/pay/unpaid-work/unpaid-trials

06.01.2022 L'inevitabile e' arrivato: The ban for Italy will begin at 6:00pm tonight. Foreign nationals who have been in Italy, will not be allowed into Australia for 14 ...days from the time they left those countries. Australian citizens and permanent residents travelling from Italy will be able to enter Australia, but need to isolate themselves for a fortnight. ------------ Morale?

If youre covered by the Restaurant Award, our interactive ...tool can help you work it out. https://www.fairwork.gov.au//fas/restaurant-cafes-industry For example, under the award, a level 1 food and beverage attendant thats 20 or older and is full-time or part-time gets a minimum of $20.06 per hour. 02.01.2022 Somethings different this year Instead of a payment summary, you might receive an income statement. So what does that mean for you at tax time? If you us...e a tax agent, you dont need to do anything; theyll have access to the info so they can lodge your tax return. If you lodge your own return, you can access your income statement by logging into our online services through myGov. Top tip: Wait until your employer marks your info as tax ready in myGov before you lodge (they should get it done before 31 July 2019). Your other info will be pre-filled in your return by mid-August. Find out more at www.ato.gov.au//Working-as-/Accessing-your-payment-summary
