20.01.2022 The NSW SES Deepwater Unit of the NSW SES will be conducting a Come and Try Open Day on Saturday November 21 between 10am - 2pm. The unit is hoping to attract m...embers to support the local community during floods and storms. It will be an open day style event, with a free BBQ and volunteers will be showing off rescue and first response techniques used during emergencies. This will allow people interested in taking part to use real rescue tools, cutting up a car under instruction and guidance of a qualified rescue operator. Ambulance Service Paramedics will also be onsite, running through medical scenarios with hands on experience for the interested parties. There will be tours of the unit and vehicle equipment as well. Subject to weather, baiting will occur in the following reserves:- Areas of Washpool National Park in the Tenterfield Shire Local Government Area Bolivia Hill Nature Reserve, located 30km south of Tenterfield on the eastern side of the New England Highway at Bolivia Capoompeta National Park, located 12km east of Deepwater in the vicinity of Coxs Road. 1080 baits pose a high risk to domestic dogs, and all working or pet dogs should be kept under control and away from baiting areas at all times. 13.01.2022 GLEN INNES DRIVE-THROUGH CORONAVIRUS TESTING CLINIC A drive through Coronavirus testing clinic will be operating at the Glen Innes Hospital from Monday the 18th... of May. The clinic will operate Monday to Friday between the hours 1pm and 3pm. Those looking to be tested must book an appointment in advance by phoning 0438 925 949 between 8am and 4.30pm. You do not have to have symptoms of COVID- 19 to be tested, but if you are exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath you should jump on the phone straight away and book an appointment.
