18.01.2022 Please sign the Equal Pay petition now! Community services are essential services. We have supported some of the most vulnerable and marginalised people in our society through a year of floods, fires and now a pandemic. Our organisations rely on Government funding to pay the Equal Pay wages we fought for and won back in 2012. The Federal Government has not committed to continue to fund our Equal Pay wages beyond December 2020 and because of this, our sector faces a massive fu...nding shortfall of over $500 million which will impact over 100,000 jobs and countless essential services. The Federal Government can fix this in its Federal Budget in October. Join us in calling on them to properly fund Equal Pay and support essential community services workers! Please consider signing the petition. https://saveequalpay.com/#Sign Save Equal Pay If equal pay is not funded, jobs and services will be under threat. We fought to win equal pay, we will fight to protect it. SIGN THE PETITION Jobs & Services under threat In 2012 ASU members won 23% to 45% pay rises. 13.01.2022 It’s on again!

13.01.2022 Community Industry Group staff were treated to a magnificent view as they arrived at Mortlock House this week, with the addition of a new mural by Kane ‘Trait’ Horspool. The mural was designed to cover up some very old graffiti art on a wall located next to Mortlock House and features three magpies and bright red Gymea Lillies. The artwork is entitled ‘We’re all in this together’, which aptly sums up the current pandemic situation as well as the very essence of Community Industry Group’s philosophy as the peak body for community service organisations. The resident magpies have been spotted checking out the new artwork, and we invite you to do the same the next time you are in the area.

12.01.2022 The impacts of social isolation have become a major concern since restrictions have been put in place to slow the spread of COVID-19. For many people living on low-incomes, such as those with part time or casual positions, or people receiving income support payments like JobSeeker, it can be difficult to participate in social activities. Clothing, food or ticket prices can be out of reach for many people and even having friends over for dinner can be outside of the budget. Please participate in our survey, it is anonymous and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CIGSIS2020 #survey #isolation #socialisolation
