24.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS 2020 is nearly over Our last day of trade will be Wednesday the 23rd. As for re-opening, we will keep you all updated as we don’t know a specific date yet because.... Common Grounds is getting a FACE LIFT!! New year, new look! We are in the process of organising everything but at this stage it is looking like re-opening wont be until at least early February. Sadly yes, that means we will be depriving you of awesome coffee for a little longer than usual... so you might want to stock up on a bag of Campos coffee beans before we close! We value our customers and your ideas so we would love to hear some thoughts on things like menus, facilities etc. from you all in the comments below. Whilst we obviously wont be able to cater to everyone’s hopes and dreams and already have the main design locked in, we would love your thoughts on the little things that will help improve your experience at Common Grounds. We are so excited and can't wait to see everyone in the New Year and to show off our new look!

20.01.2022 Wow, what a year it's been! We just want to say a massive thank you to all our beautiful customers for sticking by us during this tough year. We can't tell you enough how much we appreciate every single one of you that walk through our doors each day. Sadly, this will be the last few days you will see Luke, Rachel and potentially Kath working at Common Grounds, as they go on to do bigger things next year. We will miss them greatly but wish them all the best with the future. We hope everyone has a well deserved break and from our little team here, wish you all a Merry Xmas and a happy new year!

18.01.2022 COVID19 UPDATE Dear Customers, After another announcement from our government last night, we feel there's need to let you know how are we doing and what's next. One thing you're probably can't wait to find ous is whether we are open or not?... In a short answer: YES, we will be operating (as long as we are allowed to), although in a completely new way. Everything will now be available to TAKEAWAY ONLY. Despite the harshness of the new laws, we intend to fully comply with them, because we can only beat the disease this way. From now on until further notice, there will be no seating at Common Grounds Cafe, whether it is to just have one quick coffee or rest while waiting for your order. After all, it's about limiting the gatherings and not about our comfort. We will provide heater outside in the coming weeks as Canberra is getting colder. initially, we will still be taking orders inside the shop and politely ask you to wait outside, where our staff will deliver your order. In the weeks to come, we will introduce a much safer way of ordering, paying and collecting your orders, a mobile app is already in advanced stages of design. We will post updates about the app by the end of the week. Food-wise - we will still cook food for you, but our operations will need to be scaled down, our menu will be simplified, please be understanding in this matter. We are working on an all-day breakfast-lunch menu that will include our staples. Pick up option will certainly be available, but we will post another message about its details separately. Home delivery is also on the cards, but this might take a few weeks to properly implement as we want to do everything by the books. Opening hours will also be affected, from today opening hours are: Monday-Friday 7:30am-2:00pm Saturday-Sunday 8:00am-2pm Lastly, we would like to remind you that we are taking this seriously and you should too. We don't encourage people gathering anymore, please remain in the safe distance from each other, keep your hygiene and if you're not feeling well stay at home. 18.01.2022 The day has finaly arrived. We are reopening for dine-in! As of Saturday we will have a total of 22 people allowed to sit in in our 3 dining areas. There will be 4 people allowed in the front area, 10 inside and 8 in the back area. If you'd like a seat bookings are absoletely essential! To make a booking please call us on 02 6291 7412. Bookings will be at every hour and maximum one hour per sitting strict. We will need your details upon arrival as required by ACT Health. You... can refuse giving away your details but we would appreciate if you provide these to help stop the spread. As for the takeaway customers, you will now be allowed to order inside, but after placing your order we will kindly ask you to wait for it outside. As this is all very new situation for us, we are sure we will drop a ball once or twice, please be understanding and patient, we will work out smooth system in the first few days and we will be doing our best to accomodate to this new setting. 16.01.2022 We started our online app. But you knew that before we posted about it This morning we got a little overwhelmed with how many of you ordered through the app. We are still ironing out the wrinkles, learning the new ways, so we would like to apologise for anything that went wrong. We have already learned heaps today, tomorrow will go much smoother If you have some feedback for us, please don't hesitate to speak up in this post. We want to know what went wrong and what we di...d well. We are also well aware that payment through the app would speed up the process, so we will implement that very soon. Hang on until then. As for the deliveries, there is a lot of activity at the moment between hospitality businesses, we are all trying to find the right way to do it, so we don't have to employ our drivers.
