23.01.2022 I literally have 15,000 photos on my phone. Yes. It overwhelms me. My best solution was to sync with Dropbox so at least theyre saved somewhere, because Im really going to need those 25 blurry photos of fireworks from 3 years ago at some time in the future...arent I? The art of photography has somewhat been devalued. We all can take a picture whenever the hell we want now. Some say its terrible, some say its good, but I say, it just is. ... Times change, technology changes, industries morph. Sometimes Ill pay someone to take photos for me, sometimes Ill get them for free off the internet, sometimes Ill use my own. Theres space for all of this now, but only the flexible and the innovative will survive. I dont think we can progress in life until we understand that we have to take responsibility for our decisions, as shitty as they might be. The perfect demonstration of this happened this morning. The idea that youd be tried and convicted of an abhorrent crime like pedopholia, and then have the gall to appeal it, screams to me denial of reality, and a severe lack of personal responsibility. ... If you hurt someone, own it. Try to make it right. If the other party doesnt respond in the way you want - which is likely - then you know youve done your best. Sometimes your best is just to STFU and serve your time. When you deny responsibility, avoid confrontation, or fail to apologize, you disconnect from yourself and others. Burying and scapegoating your issues and decisions does nothing for your soul, your future, or the good of humanity. When we own our shit, accept our humanity, be honest with the people around us, resolve conflict, we build connection, and we build a better world. We are transacting with people all the time, but how often do you make eye contact? Did you slow right down to ask a genuine question of your work colleague, and more importantly, truly listen to their answer? ... Kids are annoying right? True.
