25.01.2022 Dogs of commune #1 Aiya likes nothing more than spending a lazy Sunday protecting Commune from would be troublemakers. Her likes include laying down, wagging her tail and natty wine. Dislikes include troublemakers and overuse of sulphur at bottling. 10/10 would pet this doggo.

25.01.2022 A cult classic from the minimal intervention scene, @timwildman 2020 iteration of his beloved Pet-Nats have just landed in the store: // Astro Bunny (Fiano/Arneis/Nero D’Avola/Zibibbo)... Big peach energy, floral aromatics and just a snifter of lemon sherbert this scored a 10/10 on the gluggability scale. // Piggy pop (Nero d’Avola/Mataro) Blood orange and pomegranate, the palate is fresh and clean with a nice line of mouth-watering acid . Pizza friendly.

25.01.2022 @blackcockywines are some Margaret river young guns who create exceptionally fresh and vibrant vino in our states South. They came together from a desire to make wine that reflects the place, the land and the community from where it came. All hand made utilising natural and biodynamic practices. 23.01.2022 @delinquentewineco Hell Malvasia Experimental, super small batch, boundary pushing wine. Hand-picked, 14 days on skins and aged in old oak barrels for 8 months, unfined, unfiltered, nothing added, nothing taken away. Incredibly aromatic, pops of stone fruit and sea spray and a crisp line of acidity from start to very long finish.... Drink while: Eating fish and chips by the beach

23.01.2022 Deep in the rolling vineyards of the Basket Range in the Adelaide Hills lives Gareth andRainboBelton. Gareth farms their three vineyards himself. He works organically in the vineyard and with little to no additionsinthe winery. The Gentle Folk wines have an energy and style all their own. Named after the fact the vineyard spends a lot of its time in the clouds, the Clouds is a wine with near perfect balance in our humble opinion. Bright crystalline minerality and a brilli...ance on the palate. Peach and nectarine reveals itself with air and a bit of time in the glass. Only 1150 bottles made.

21.01.2022 Jasmine Wakely produces @letimbrewine in a small shed surrounded by just an acre of vines in Keilor, Melbourne. Handpicked and wild fermented this is a juicy blend of Riesling, Pinot Noir and Cabernet. Unfiltered and unfined as always.... Only 80 dozen made and we are the only shop in WA with some. The wine tastes like juicy cherry & riberry tea. Pop it in the fridge to give it a slight chill, this is one is best enjoyed during a beautiful Perth Spring afternoon with friends, lovely.

21.01.2022 Competition time! A huge thank you to everybody that has completed and shared our questionnaire. We originally aimed to get 100 answers in the first week, we ended up getting over 1200 responses in the first day! The community response, once again, has been huge and we feel very loved. As a small token of our appreciation we are giving away this magnum of Grenache from our friends at Skigh wine (who also recently opened their cellar door down in Margs). ... Just tag your 3 friends you’d love to share this big boy with and we will pick a winner on Monday afternoon.

19.01.2022 We picked this bottle up driving up the West coast of America 5 years ago at @bonnydoonvineyard, it’s enigmatic founder Randall Grahm has arguably done more to further American West coast minimal intervention wine than anybody. This big boy is a Californian blend similar in composition to a Cháteauneuf-du-Pape (37% Mourvèdre, 34% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 9% Cinsault). 100% good times. He is currently in the midst of tending his experimental vineyard Popelouchum on a quest to... find the ultimate Californian Grand Cru. Sadie the dog for scale.

17.01.2022 It’s not just great wines and beers that we sell, we also have a growing collection of esoteric and hard to find, lovingly crafted spirits. This one in particular from @haiver_spirits is a serious drink from four not-so-serious mates who have been squirrelling away in the back blocks of Bayswater honing their craft. They’re combining new-world techniques such as rotary evaporation with the old-world, using a copper-pot still to make the spirits. This double distilled vodka is... twice filtered over charcoal, it has a generous mouthfeel with notes of vanilla with a crisp finish. Haiver (Verb): To talk in a foolish or trivial manner.

16.01.2022 Its been a hot minute, 10 months ago we applied for this license thinking we would be open by February, a lot has happened since then but we finally did it. We would like to thank absolutely everyone that rallied around us in our time of need. For the 1500 people who answered our surveys, for those that wrote witness statements and for those wineries, breweries and distilleries that wrote letters of support we cannot thank you enough. Commune Wine Store, opening end of October.

15.01.2022 Due to the crazy response to our Harvey Wallbanger special (we sold out almost immediately) it took us a while to get hold of some more stock, but we are good to go! Embrace your inner Maylandian (or the @thewestaustralian newspapers idea of one) and start the weekend off right with a bag of coffee beans from Perth favourite @modus.coffee and @deedsbrewing Oat Cream Double IPA, truly the breakfast of champions!

14.01.2022 An imperial fruited sour by UK outfit @gipsyhillbrew this 440ml can has had the works thrown at it and then some! Packed full of raspberries, blackberries and blue honeysuckle, a great body and an incredible purple hue. Dangerously this does not drink like a 7.2% beer, so watch out. LOOK AT THAT COLOUR!!!

13.01.2022 @journeywines is the fitting name chosen by Damian North for his wine label. Originally a sommelier in Sydney, Damian completed his wine making degree before a meandering route took him from the Yarra Valley to Oregon, Margaret river before finally back home to the Yarra. He sources his fruit from 3 very small, cool climate vineyards in the Yarra Valley and is known for making delicate wines with poise, brightness and precision. Unfortunately for personal reasons Damian has w...ound up Journey wines and this is its last release. 12.01.2022 There were a few dusty heads this morning. A big thank you to all you beautiful people who popped there heads into the store for our opening party and a few cheeky glasses of vino. 11.01.2022 @local_weirdos_wine came together when four friends had a dream, that dream was making some seriously natural wine from the Swan Valley. Chateau da Swan - Seriously elevated Grenache fermented in a 1000L Qvevri (Georgian terracotta amphora). Big Valley Bombo - Grenache/Semillon blend, a light red wine with a powerfully aromatic nose.... Turbulent juice - Semillon. A racy, high energy number, green apple acid and a tropical fruit punch nose. These guys will be one of the two wineries pouring their delicious drops this Friday. Let’s get weird!

02.01.2022 We often forget how lucky we are to live on the periphery of such a fantastic wine region (the second oldest in Australia) that is shaking off its old school image and is pumping out some great wines from some great people. Our friend Tom from @chouette_wine will be opening his own cellar door soon and we can’t wait to see what’s on the cards.
