16.01.2022 Stuck at home with the kids? Thanks to ABC Kids Community and ABC Education we’ve got both entertainment and learning covered! Today at 4pm, a special Play ...School episode all about coronavirus for your preschoolers. From term two, educational programming will be extended on ABC ME to support students and caregivers at home, from 10am to 3pm each weekday. 08.01.2022 **EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST** In the coming weeks, Birth and Beyond will be offering FREE online antenatal classes via Zoom for Alice Springs parents and parents-...to-be. All classes held at the hospital have been put on hold and we understand this has left many feel anxious. We also know that many households are experiencing a great deal of financial stress so we decided to make these offerings free. If you wish to support the organisation during these difficult times, we encourage you to become a Birth and Beyond member for $25 or make a small donation. The online classes will be presented by a local midwife and run for 2 hours each. There will be 2 different workshops: ‘Active Birth’ Find out more about what to expect in labour and how to prepare. Discover positions that will encourage progress in labour, help reduce pain and give you the best chance to have a natural birth. Practice ways that your partner can encourage and support you to be more comfortable. 'A New Life: the first six weeks' Learn how to help baby adjust to life outside the womb during the first six weeks after birth: breastfeeding, swaddling, bathing, baby’s communication, nappies and much more. Also, explore strategies for looking after oneself and one's partner during this special time.
