25.01.2022 Happy Friday! Another C4C memory from one of our newest members, Adriana! I went on my very first immersion to Cambodia in November 2019 and it was honestly the trip of a lifetime. One of my favourite parts of the trip was having fun with all the children in the village (I'm a terrible builder so this worked well haha!) Although we couldn't speak the same language, we were still able to connect so well, laugh and have a ton of fun with song and dance. I pretty much did every dance from the macarena to the nutbush whilst they taught me some Cambodian songs and dances too! The photo here is when all the kids decided to decorate my hair with flowers after a long dancing session!

23.01.2022 A C4C Memory from our member Gemma! Immersion trips are amazing for so many different reasons but for me what stands out the most is the kids! Seeing how happy these kids are, how they enjoy all the things in life that we might take for granted is a blessing and a reminder to us all. I love taking the time out of my build day to go visit their schools, or learn a dance with them. Their faces light up and it reminds me to take a moment and savour the small things like kicking a ball, bubbles, playing tag, dancing or even learning something new. The smiles from the kids in the villages is the thing that stays with me long after the trips are over.

21.01.2022 R U OK Day with our President @lancedavidbrooks

21.01.2022 A conversation can change a life Whilst on immersion with C4C, after a hard day's work building a home, we all like to sit together and talk about the highs and lows of our day. There may be times when we are particularly down after seeing and experiencing the lives of others who live in poverty, have been through wars, are hungry and don't have clean water. Together, we ask each other, are you okay? In sharing our thoughts, feelings and experiences we become even closer as a group and are able to support each other through all the tough times, building not only houses but great friendships too

20.01.2022 Cheers to our friends in Tamworth Celebrating Wear it Purple Day! Wear it Purple Day is an annual LGBTIQA+ awareness day especially for young people, based in Australia! We at C4C are all about inclusivity, so if you are unsure what to wear tonight, pop on some purple and celebrate diversity

20.01.2022 In the last year, C4C has partnered with the Tamworth Local Aboriginal Land Council to be part of a school holiday program which places focus on supporting at-risk Indigenous youth. Last year, C4C volunteers ventured to Tamworth to help out. They learnt from Indigenous leaders, had a blast playing with the children and came home with amazing memories. Fingers crossed we can return soon

20.01.2022 Does this happen to anyone else during their zoom meetings? Recently C4C has been working hard during our monthly meetings to bring some exciting things for you at the end of the year! Can't wait to share them with you soon!

19.01.2022 As part of National Reconciliation Week, We acknowledge and respect the Traditional Owners of this Country and we recognise their continuing connection to this land, its waters and its communities. #inthistogether

18.01.2022 C4C was delighted to take part in Social Justice Day at St Patricks Strathfield this week, an event we've been attending since 2003! This year we had one of our volunteers, Adriana Pielak talk to Year 10 students about her recent immersion to Cambodia, what it's like to be part of the C4C Community and how taking a step forward and helping others, even in the smallest sense, can be a real life-changer. Thank you St Pat's for having us! Until next year

18.01.2022 Check out our hardworking volunteers at Trelawney Station today giving the front gate a nice revamp! So grateful to the team in Tamworth for giving us the opportunity to have our first immersion this year!

18.01.2022 Keep Safe and Wash Your Hands! Whilst in Cambodia, C4C ventured to the local school and taught children how to practice good hygiene and wash their hands using the song 'Happy Birthday'. In return, they taught us their own song on how to keep clean. Teaching good hygiene to children in Cambodia has been so important, as such knowledge gets passed onto parents, families and the wider community, helping save lives.

18.01.2022 We hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday! Today we have an amazing video to share with you on two Indonesian families we met during one of our Immersions. Here they tell us about their experience of the immersion with C4C from their own perspective and eyes. A beautiful video to watch. **Warning** grab some tissues, they will be needed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WDwub6wGFo

The community has given so much to our agency and family, this is been a great way for us to give something back".

14.01.2022 Happy Friday Everyone! To start off your long weekend, let's take a step back in time to 2002 where we started work on our FIRST project to build nine schools for refugees living on the Thai/Myanmar border

13.01.2022 To all our supporters, We’re very sad to announce that this weekend’s Halloween Drive-In Cinema has had to be cancelled due to the big storm coming our way. 12.01.2022 Last week, a group of C4C volunteers had the privilege of doing a walking tour of the @kokoda_track_walkway with WWII Veteran Reg Chard. It was an honour to listen to the 97-year-old share his story from his time in Papua New Guinea.

11.01.2022 A little shout out to all the C4C Dad's today, we hope you have a wonderful Father's Day! In light of today, check out the story of father and son, Rob and Pat and how going on a C4C immersion made their relationship bloom

09.01.2022 Meet Matt Foulkes our co-ordinator for our immersions to Tamworth where C4C helps support Indigenous youth with a school holiday program, in partnership with the Tamworth Local Aboriginal Land Council! Watch this space as we may have some exciting opportunities to help out in Tamworth again this year "The Tamworth Immersion is such an amazing experience to undertake with Communities for Communities. Over the three trips in 2019 we've seen a plethora of volunteers of all ages... come along to work with the incredible people at the Tamworth Local Aboriginal Land Council and their own volunteers at their school holiday program. A tradition has emerged where each group of kids that come to the program create a banner to highlight their favourite moments of the experience or to depict themselves in the most creative way they can!" - Matt Foulkes If you would like to take part and help support local initiatives like Tamworth (fingers crossed we can help out again this year!) send us a message or head to communitiesforcommunities.com.au

07.01.2022 C4C Memories Meet Donna, one of our newest members of C4C who went on her first immersion to Cambodia last November! One of her fondest experiences with C4C has been meeting new friends and people. "My greatest experience so far has been Meeting Patsy on the C4C Cambodia trip. We are from different parts of Australia but have come together with a common goal to help people not as privileged as ourselves.... Also, Meeting the ladies from the village; We couldn’t speak the same language, yet we spoke and understood each other on so many different levels. Loved those ladies!".

06.01.2022 A few of our volunteers assisted at the Kokoda Day event today, the day the Australian flag was raised at Kokoda in 1942. Thanks to the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway team who invited us to celebrate the day with them and to the volunteer nurses and @canadabay for their support #lestweforget

05.01.2022 Some fantastic news during NAIDOC Week! Our first immersion for 2020! The Tamworth Local Aboriginal Land Council has given us the opportunity to assist with works at Trelawney Station from the 23rd -27th of November and we'd love to get some volunteers on board! Some of the activities include: Mentoring at some of the TLAL...C Opportunity Hub's teenage programs Replanting of trees at bushfire affected properties managed by the TLALC Assisting in the construction of fences at Trelawney Station Send us a DM if you'd be interested!
