17.01.2022 The "day of the Lord" shall not come unless there first be a great falling away, a great apostasy, a wholesale falling away from the Faith by those who were tho...ught to be Christians. This could come about through the introduction of a cashless society, in which the banks control all electronic transactions. There are other ways that those who are thought to be -- or think themselves to be -- Christians might fall away in large numbers. Submission to state government directions during the Covid-19 outbreak by scared citizens, and the reelection of two state premiers in Australia who were unrelentingly tough on those within their borders, is proof enough as to how fear can be used to manipulate citizens of a country who think themselves to be free. This is a time to examine yourself to see if you are "in the Faith". Did you commit your life to Jesus Christ? You did? Wonderful! Have you been baptized in water according to the apostle Peter's Acts 2:38 instruction? Very good! Have you received the gift -- not the gifts, plural, but the Gift, singular -- of the Holy Spirit? Great! Question yourself as to whether you are in regular fellowship with other believers in a local church, one in which you play an active part. Do you share your faith with those around you, the majority of whom are doomed unless they hear the Good News of God's salvation provided for them through the Lord Jesus Christ. Hear it from you, then believe it, and receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. You cannot choose to 'unlove' Christ unless you did not really love him in the first place. Was your 'decision for Jesus' real or was it an emotional act? There's nothing wrong with the latter; it's just that conversion is a first a spiritual act that is followed by emotional responses and happy feelings. If you have been "born from above" by the Holy Spirit in response to your faith in Jesus Christ, you have been baptized by immersion in water in the Name of Jesus Christ, and have also been baptized in the Holy Spirit -- there's no way that you will ever renounce your Lord Jesus, no matter what. But what if extreme pressure is applied to you, in the way of threats? Don't worry, God will give you the grace to stand up to them or to go through them. Why think of negative 'What Ifs' when the Lord has them all covered? You don't have to know how the Lord will protect and preserve you -- just that he has promised that he will.
