15.01.2022 DONATION APPEAL FOR LOCAL FIRE VICTIMS The Community Foundation for the Tumut Region has coordinated a financial donation appeal for victims directly affected by the Dunns Rd. fire Supporting partners in the appeal are Elders Adelong and Tumut ,the Adelong Progress Assoc and the Community Bank (Bendigo) Adelong. ... A subcommittee has been formed comprising representatives of The Bendigo Bank Adelong ,Elders Adelong and Tumut the Adelong Progress Association and the Community Foundation .An invitation is also being extended to have a Snowy Valleys Council delegate. Due to the Community Foundation’s structure the appeal is able to assist residents of the old Tumut Shire region, however if donations are specifically for residents of the wider district these funds will be directed to those in need. Donations are tax deductable and can be deposited in any branch of the Bendigo Community Bank , Ray White Real Estate or by direct deposit to the Community Foundation The chairman of the Community Foundation Louise Halsey said the board has been very pleased to be able to activate our Disaster Appeal which was last used in the floods of 2010 /12 and to assist in the fundraising for the SES sandbagging machine. To date the Appeal is over $9000. Once things settle we shall meet to determine the best way to distribute to the victims which will be in the form of vouchers for goods from local businesses. We shall try and accommodate the desire of donors for their donation to be used specifically as best we can, but every dollar will be of great value. For all those who have been impacted by the fire or know of folk who have, we ask that you register names and addresses with the coordinating partners or by contacting Louise Halsey on 0429619128 or 69473208.
