24.01.2022 A weekend of wellness at Community Place - Saturday 29 Feb is your chance to get your yoga fix! Get strong and flexible with an extra chance for self-care and restorative yoga and meditation. 9am-10am: Strength through movement with Davina - expect a powerful class to really focus on engaging your muscles through yoga. 10:15am-11:45am: Restorative Yoga - 90 mins of gentle movement and guided meditation. Props will be used to help you deeply relax. Please bring a towel or small blanket as an added prop. 11:45am-1pm: Essential Oils - learn more about some of the oils that will be featured in the classes and how else they can benefit you over some healthy nibbles and tea. 23.01.2022 As we all face the challenge of Coronavirus/COVID-19 we have taken the decision to suspend our Tuesday art class effective IMMEDIATELY. This means there will be no art class on Tuesday 15 March 2020. There will be no more art classes until further notice. The Tuesday art class is our largest class attracting between 50 70 people and it is for this reason that we have decided to suspend the class in line with government advice to limit gatherings of large numbers of people i...n one place. We can all play a role in reducing the risks of contracting COVID-19 and we believe that we all have a responsibility to contribute to the effort. All other classes (which have much smaller number of attendees) at Community Place will proceed as normal unless they are suspended by the teachers or organisations responsible for the classes. However, any person who presents symptoms of the Novel Coronavirus should adhere to the advice and instructions of health authorities and reconsider their attendance. As soon as we have information about further class suspensions we will post that information on our Facebook page so please check the page regularly for updates. To learn more about the precautions you can take, please refer to the World Health Organization guidelines and advice published by local health authorities. 17.01.2022 I have just received the disappointing news that the owners of Community Place have decided to reopen the centre albeit during business hours only. Therefore any instructors taking classes after hours will no longer be able to utilise the centre. All future enquires, please call Scarlett Hetherington on 0439 913 901. I would personally like to thank each and every one of the amazing and talented instructors who have given up their time for free for the benefit of the Tenerif...fe/Newstead community (and beyond) over the past couple of years. The building is CLOSED and will remain so for the foreseeable future.... Thank you for all your messages of support and for your continued interest in Community Place.
