A couple of her introduction points are included in these slides - we hope she can present again next year for those of you who missed out.

15.01.2022 Most of us will have read about the benefits of risky play in recent years, and it continues to be a hot topic in Facebook groups, forums and PD sessions. While many of these discussions focus around the dangers of using sharp or heavy implements, climbing to great heights and engaging with loose parts, the common garden stick rarely makes the grade. After reading a news article about stick play being banned from a primary school playground recently, it seemed like a topic wo...rth exploring. The dangers of running with sticks and eyes being poked out are never far from the minds of parents in busy playgrounds and parks. We asked author and award-winning teacher Renee Irving Lee to share her thoughts on the topic. http://ow.ly/utVl50CeS6A

14.01.2022 Amongst the many Government reports and inquiries conducted in 2020, one released in late 2020 received little attention. The Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Training released a report on Education in remote and complex environments. This report builds on two previous reports, the Independent Review into Regional, Rural and Remote Education (Halsey review, 2018) and the National Regional, Rural and Remote Tertiary Education Strategy (Napthine review, 2019), an...d seeks to provide clear recommendations to progress the findings of these reports. The report has a focus across education, from early childhood education through to university education, but importantly acknowledges that what happens in early education can set children up for a lifetime of learning. http://ow.ly/9cxr50DM7IE

05.01.2022 CELA thanks all of the services who have come to us with concerns about Free Preschool. We have been able to speak at length with all of you and collected data which represents a clear picture, that free preschool in its current model, presents many challenges for services in high SEIFA bands. We will continue to advocate for viability for all services and keep you informed across the coming week.

04.01.2022 A wonderfully calming exercise from @truthdoctors who says :SAVE THIS for the next time you feel you are being flooded with emotions. While it's incredibly important to honor and feel our emotions as needed, sometimes they can overpower us and debilitate us at that moment. If this happens grounding techniques can be useful for you to center yourself and start to equal out your feelings /thoughts.
